Paxum: withdraw to your bank (many currencies)... FC, withdraw at ATM. If you're traveling, and the ATM is not the same currency as your FC card (USD), you need to look for the best FX rate in that city/country amongst ATMs. Paxum is now introducing its own Bank!

I think it really depends on what you want to accomplish.
If you want to be able to use the account to pay other people, paxum since the First Choice account doesn't let you send out payments to others. Also, I think it depends on how much money you're talking. If you don't want to have to withdraw large amounts of cash from a card (I'm talking over 5k), paxum. |

FirstChoice still has the same issues as Payoneer did.
If you have a "bank-transfer" type account instead of a "card-account", you can't link it to many sponsors. |

For sending payments i prefer paxum. When receiving payments, i prefer FCP, the atm withdrawal rates is just okay.
I ordered new cards for both at the same time, guess what? FCP arrived last week, Paxum status still printing. ![]() |

Both cards have a withdrawal limit of $2500 per 24 hours.
This means, that even if you are able to find an ATM that is willing to give out such an amount, in one single withdrawal, you will still have to visit the ATM several times per week to withdraw your 15 000 USD. Most ATMs will only let you withdraw an amount between $800 - $2000 per transaction and many ATMs charge a separate ATM fee on top of the fee that paxum or FCP charge. This means that you should calculate a withdrawal fee of around $5 per transaction, to see the full cost. This can of course vary depending on country and specific ATM, but $5 is a fair number for calculation and this include the fixed Paxum ($2) / FCP fee ($2.75) ATM fee. Since the ATM fee is charged regardless of amount you have to calculate that you'll be paying around $10 in fees per day, given that you will most likely have to make two ATM withdrawals per day to be able to withdraw your full $2500 per 24 hours. To withdraw $15k you'd have to make a minimum of 6 withdrawals, on 6 different days if you can get the exact full $2500 each day, at a cost of $60 plus any currency exchange losses (it is fair to calculate at least 2% currency losses due to Mastercard's exchange rates) most reasonably, 12 withdrawals, 2 per day, on 6 different days at a cost of $120 plus again any currency exchanage losses. If you want to save some, say that you only withdraw $2000 per day, then you could get 6 x $2000 = $12 000 and then go one more separate day and withdraw $2000 and get to $14 000 and let $1000 remain in account/card and roll over into next period. What will most likely be your hardest task, is to find ATMs that are willing to spit out enough cash per transaction. With cash being more and more obsolete in most Western countries, many ATMs will only spit out in the range of around $1000 - $1500 per transaction, but your milage may vary greatly depending on country and specific ATM. With amounts as high as $15 000 you'd be better off with a Paxum acocunt and requesting a montly wire transaction directly t your bank acccount. It will cost you $50 fixed fee plus any currency exchange losses. It will save you from having to go to the ATM 6 or more times per month.

Let's try to do some calculations, with $1000 payment from Chaturbate.
Paxum Account is free but the card costs $45 per year, which would equal $3.75 per month. No fee for you as account holder to receive a payment. All payments are also received so you can use them in your account within minutes from them being sent. When you want to transfer to other account holder or from your Paxum account to your card account, you do pay a transaction fee of $0.25 per transaction. ATM fee, $2 Paxum fee per ATM transaction plus anything that the ATM owner will charge (but the ATM owner fee will be the same regardless of Paxum or FCP card). First Choice Pay Account costs $2 per month, if you have money in your account. So if you get paid every month, you will pay $2x12 = $24 in account fees. If you only get paid six months per year and have your account COMPLETELY empty the other six months, you will only pay $2x6 = $12 in account fees. FCP has a fee to receive payments, depending on which fee schedule the paying sponsor has choosen. This fee will range between $2 to $5 per payment. Normally, it costs $2-$3 for a payment which will be credited to your account within 2 business days from it being sent. If you want "immediate" load, you will pay the $5 fee and it will be credited to your account within 2 hours. ATM fee, $2.75 per ATM transaction plus anything that the ATM owner charge, but as noted above, will be the same for both cards. FCP also writes in their list of fees, and I quote: * When a transaction is made as a foreign transaction or is requested in a currency other than USD, charges of up to 3% may be assessed above all charges assessed by MasterCard for the transaction. End quote. Meaning, if you have a FCP card in USD currency and withdraw in Europe as you say, you will not be withdrawing USD but some European currency. This means that FCP will ding you with some extra "up to 3%" in currency exchange fees - on top of what Mastercard already charge! Since both Paxum and FCP are Mastercards, it is safe to assume that Mastercard themselves will charge the same exchange rate at any given time for both the cards but FCP will add their own 3% fee on top! Let's now think of a scenario, where you receive $1000 per month, 12 months per year and withdraw them in full, from a European ATM every month (I know it will be impossible to withdraw exactly $1000 USD each month due to exchange rates but for calculations, let's assume this is still possible!) Paxum Yearly card fee, $45 No fees to receive payments to your Paxum account Transfer fee from your Paxum account to card account, 12 transactions @ $0.25 each = 12x0.25 = $3 ATM fee, 12 withdrawals @ $2 each = 12x2 = $24 Total fees for Paxum, when receiving $1000 per month for a full year: $45 + $3 + $24 = $72 From your 12 x $1000 = $12 000 you deduct the $72 fees and you get $11 928 USD left. On top of this come any fees that the ATM owner will charge, but again, those will be the same for both Paxum and FCP cards. First Choice Pay Monthly account fee, 12x$2 = $24 Fee to receive payments, let's assume the cheapest and that you are willing to wait 2 business days for each payment to get the lowest fees: $2 per payment, 12 payments gives 12x$2 = $24. ATM fees, 12 withdrawals @ $2.75 each gives 12x$2.75 = $33 On top of this comes the FCP currency exchange fee where 1% would be $120 USD in exchange fees 2% would be $240 USD in exchange fees 3% would be $360 USD in exchange fees I think it is fair, for comparison and calculation purposes to assume half of the "up to 3%" that FCP mentions, meaning 1.5% in exchange fees which amounts to $180 Total fees for FCP, when receiving $1000 per month for a full year: $24 + $24 + $33 = $81 From your 12 x $1000 = $12 000 you deduct the $81 fees and you get $11 919 USD left. But then you also have to consider the exchange fee, which in our example would be another $180 which leaves you with $11 739 USD left after all fees. Given those calculations, we see that for one single monthly payment from a sponsor, both cards are identical in total fees up to the point of having received the funds into the account which is connected to your card. For Paxum, those fees would be $45 + $3 = $48 For FCP, those fees would be $24 + $24 = $48 Then they will differ slightly on the ATM fees and FCP will prove to be the real loser due to the extra currency exchange fee that they will add on top of the Mastercard fees. But amount of fees are not everything here in life. You also need to compare which system is most reliable and ask yourself how much you value customer service and how trustworthy you consider each company to be. I will leave that part up to you!

Adraco, what are you talking about ? Both Paxum and FCP charge 3 % on currency exchange if transaction is in other currency than USD. 3 % to Mastercard' rate, but AFAIK Mastercard's rate is almost interbank rate.
So both Paxum and FCP do the same. |

No, the rate you get with FCP is worse than the one you get with Paxum. Try going to any ATM, and withdraw the same amount, from both cards and you will see for yourself.

what are you talking about ? exchange rate doesn't depend on ATM, but on: a) FX rate )b) card's bank issuer fees = means First Choice Bank fees. This is 3 % deducted from mastercard's FX rate (that is almost the same as FX rate).
Exchange rates doesn't depend at all on ATM. What may depends is if the ATM charges some fees...sometimes some of them do, all of them do, or none of them do it. depends on the country where you withdraw |

afaik in Paxum its 2,8 % (or 3?), in FCP its 3 %. thats the difference.
also afair FCP charges 3 usd per withdrawal and paxum 2 usd. Maybe you were mistaken as Mastercard's rates are updated once a day at strange hours for nonamerican guys ? at 8 am - 2pm (afair) in Europe rate is still from last day. |
