First of all, that previous ukr gov wasnt that anti-EU actually...they just wanted to pretend that its possible to stay in the middle and make their nation prosperous.

Do not put them in the same raw. The cases are real different. If Litvinienko was a personal hater of Putin, the other ones were not a problem to him. Navalny is a problem, but not some Politkovskaya, who I believe he knew about only when she was killed by Chechens.
