Whenever I would go to my kids school...I parked my car, walked onto campus, walked into the school, walked down the hallway to the office where I "checked in" and they gave me a stick on name tag.

How about student ID cards with bar-codes on them. And an entrance at the front where all the students come in through a turnstile swiping their cards as they enter.
And any parents visiting the school would be stopped right there to show ID, walk through a metal detector, and THEN get a pass to go on to school grounds.

You are moving the problem from schools to other places the public gathers.

Open gun carry. Try that in an airport, schools are targetted more than airports.

More secure schools. Only moves the problem to other venues.

Defence against criminals. Buy an alarm system.

Hunting. Requires a single shotgun.
Pest control. So only those living in areas where bears and mountain lions roam and don't own bear repellant or a fog horn!!

Sports shooting. Does not require anything as deadly as the weapons used in mass shootings.

You're completely right, Paul. However, I was just pointing out that if guns are banned by reason that they kill people. Then by the same token, food must also be banned. Because food kills people by choking.

As you point out gun free zones are not a solution, they could be a draw to shooters.

So no solution. Just as arming teachers. The people who do these mass shooting don't expect to come out alive. So at best you can limit the number killed. If your outdated 2nd Amendment Rights are still worth shedding lives. Then say so.

Those stories aren't talked about much because they don't fit the narrative that is being pushed out.

As for the 2nd Amendment...here in the U.S. we have something called FREEDOM. And the more power govt. has over you, the less FREEDOM you have.

Having said that...I will repeat what I have said over and over and over: IF the people of the United States wish to allow the govt. to disarm all of us, then we should have Congress repeal the 2nd Amendment.
End of the argument on "gun control".

Will that stop crazy people from mass killing? Nope.
Bombs, vehicles, poison...people were killing other people in droves long before guns even existed.

Will it slow it down if magically ALL guns were gone? Yeah.
And so will hardening up the schools security.

I think the video you showed proved my point. After the shooters had killed 20 people.

out here in cally I spent a day in 'gun' school then I think it took a week to get the gun... if I wanted to fuck up a school I don't I would mind the wait that much
