it seems as though the klingon empire is now asking visa applicants to hand over their social media/email accounts and passwords so that the empire can carefully deliberate whether you plan on doing exactly as they are doing abroad

this will stop many many terrorists because they all post their plans on facebook

anyway get ready for a decline in tourism, there are many other nice places to visit where you are not asked to hand over your personal stuff to paranoid invaders

the last time I did ESTA it was already in there (the accounts - not the passwords to them) but it wasn't mandatory. And so far it is only a proposal. But if this would really happen, I will most likely not be the only one who would stop going to the US.

And aside from tourism - millions of business trips also would not be happening anymore and the effect on the economy would be devastating.

More and more countries are going biometric now anyways so does it really matter? here in Aus they are doing away with passports completely, there a last century thing, your either on the system.. or your waiting in a little room at the airport.. until your on the system

Funny how this works against most, but in my case it helped my wife get her Dutch Visa quicker by showing it was us and we were really married and to top it off happy

I fail to see the point in this. How many social media accounts does one person have? How do they know someone doesn't have six different accounts on Facebook, and they are only turning over one?

The worst part is when the other countries decide to pay the US back and start doing it also.

right now Mexico has a thing where every time the US state department issues a travel warning, they do the same in the major cities in Mexico. its a tit for tat thing but honestly it can ruin the worlds economy. At least in a short term thing.

well for one it is humiliating to be asked to give over personal accounts and data to complete strangers...I mean why not also ask for pictures of your asshole? do you have something to hide?...

also there is the obvious business aspect where I do not want complete strangers going through my shit...why on earth would I apply for a visa to such an anal country when I can go on vacation/business elsewhere?...

if the USA wants to reduce the risk of terrorism it should go the fuck home with its armies and stop training/supporting groups like ISIS/aquaeda etc...you know, stop creating the problem it is selling the solution for...
