iCloud security for contacts? Rate on a 1-to-10 ? - GoFuckYourself.com

We often hear about celebs getting their iCloud account hacked and nude photos getting shared. However you never hear about other info really.

I'm considering syncing my contacts book with iCloud - For backup purposes should my iMac fail. Would you consider this particularly risky?

There's nothing in my contacts that I would be afraid to show law enforcement, however I certainly wouldn't want it to fall into the wrong hands as it also has passwords and private notes within it...

On a 1 to 10, how would you rate iCloud security?

I think most hacks like that are social engineering, not actually hacking their system.

Yeah, that makes sense. I also suppose that people are gonna actively look for celeb accounts just to see what's in them, as opposed to little old me...

In the 10 years Ive had the iTunes account (Which has now become the iCloud account) I have never had so much as a sniff of trouble...

I'll probably chance it

After all that it didn't fucking work properly anyway! Out of the 100+ contacts with notes etc, only about 20 of them uploaded to iCloud. Pointless.

Well I got there in the end - Just had to re-enter all the missing contacts at the icloud end. They reappeared in my contact book as duplicates, so I deleted those and now they all match
