New law links sex trafficking to the adult industry.

Watch this clip for an explanation on how the conservative right will bring down the adult industry.

Andrea Dworkin had the same agenda 40 years ago....One of her claims to fame was that a woman is not able to make a decision about a contract and thus competent to sign it...and she was a readical liberal feminist. The Trumpets are obviously learning from this left wing commie ...go figure

Not sure if I understand this correctly, is this going to prohibit ads for any kind of sex work, including adult talent ads? Well, that would be a problem for porn producers/agencies.

As for site owners to be responsible for the content shared on their sites, it would kill piracy if similiar thing was applied in EU too. I support site owner's responsibility.

This will drive porn online back to offline, unless they ban porn outright. And that will lose them seats in government and Presidencies.

Don't fall for the scare tactics a few are using to drum up business for themselves. We saw this same tactic during the 2257 days

They don't need to ban porn. They could ban the recruitment of people for sex work under trafficking laws.. that would completely destroy commercial porn. These laws are already strict in EU.

They won't do that. Offline porn was very strict about documentation, even not buying from unknown Czech producers because of the fear of forged documents.

It is disturbing that the bill has vague wording.

Quote:
The bill’s language penalizes any websites that “promote or facilitate prostitution,” and allows authorities to pursue websites for “knowingly assisting, facilitating, or supporting sex trafficking,” which is vague enough to threaten everything from certain cryptocurrencies to porn videos to sites for perfectly legal escort services.

(In fact, one of the bill’s main supporters, the National Center on Sexual Exploitation, is arguably using the bill as a path to attack consensual adult pornography, which it has characterized as “violent,“ “degrading,” and “a public health crisis.”)

What does this have to do with documentation? Trafficking is about recruitment, you don't even need to meet the person to get in trouble.

Offline porn required a photographer/cameraman to meet the models, verify the documents, take pictures of said documents for every scene, then had to be trusted by the editor/publisher that said photographer/cameraman could be trusted.

You're talking about online porn where the site owners don't even need to meet the person to get in trouble.

All porn starts offline; nobody is fucking inside your home computer.

There is always some form of advertising involved if you don't work with agencies. I assume, in the era of offline porn, you used newspaper ads, flyers or agents. How would you otherwise recruit the girls? This is in no way different than online ads.

When I said you wouldn't even need to meet the person I meant that it is irrelevant if any porn was shot with that person or not. They could lock you up just for those ads (or any other recruiting techniques) if they were unlawful.

The problem with online is a lot of sites don't know their producers. A lot are only interested in price, otherwise people like Brandon wouldn't exist. You ignored the part about trusting the photographer/cameraman.

What if the ad stipulated 18+ and the producers were in Europe?

I still don't know if this bill is about advertising of "sex work" in general, if that also includes porn performers.

If not, than it really is just about an exception in the safe harbour so whores could no longer offer their services through ads.
