I haven't eaten Burger King in thirty-plus years and have never had McDonald's food. this video makes me want to go to Burger King right now!

I love Chinese food -- but -- apparently when I lived on Long Island, my mom got food from one Chinese restaurant all the time. Said it was the best next to Boston Chinatown food.

The Health Department closed it down. They found a barrel of skinned cats and cat meat in the fridge.

No "mom ate pussy" jokes please. I did, too. Dad was spared as he was kosher. Fortunately we moved back to Boston shortly thereafter.

Saving time on your own health is not a good idea. Also there is an alternative. E.g. If I want to eat fast, I go to some buffet where I can eat as much as I want and everything I want. Everything there is always fresh, tasty, healthy and it works even faster than fast food because there are no lines to make an order and wait while your meal will be ready (like in all those krustyburgers). I've worked at a lot of fast food chains when I was younger ( Burgerville, McDonalds, Burger King, KFC ) I rarely eat fast food because I know what happens behind the counter lol

I cook at least once a day 3 times sometimes, I'm used to it since I moved out at 18 and my wife didn't know how to cook so I had to learn for both of us.

Yes, today it's very easy to learn with internet. I can cook almost anything I've never cooked before, because there a so many step-by-step instructions in textual and video formats online. Times have changed. Growing up, my mom cooked for dinner every night. Once a month we would go out to eat. Seafood (living close the fishing ports) was fresh and cheap, steak was from local farms so very fresh, etc. Fast food wasn't eaten; burgers and fries were handmade. Then the nation got hooked on fast food with greasy, salty and fatty cheap meals. Feed your family for ten bucks, let the kids stay in lazily and watch tv.

Now they have double and triple burgers with bacon and cheese. All fat and sodium with half gallons of sugary soda. Families have both parents working so grab fast food or TV dinners. It would take twenty minutes to pan fry burgers and bake fresh fries. Nuke potatoes, slice and bake. Nuke a fresh veggie or salt-free canned veggies. I know there is a little prep work but not much. Everyone pitch in and help.

We had a chicken place that did broiled chicken and healthy sides. But, they opened across from the projects. Business was slow but I went weekly and one order went for two nights. They had to pay $36k/rent for a year upfront. Closed after eight months and took the loss. Could not afford to move. Five stars in a local review, too. But people want cheap, salty, fatty crap instead of $1 more per person for healthy food.

It's an epidemic but fast food is cheaper and cheaper and on every block. The country doesn't listen to heart attack and cholesterol stats. It's really sad how today's parents feed their kids. Fat is the norm and shorter life expectancy is the norm, too
