the ice that is melting is also above the waterline (this is the reason why we can SEE IT) out of that it is not only the water level that concerns - it is SWEAT WATER that melts into the oceans and decrease the salt content. do you know how much life on earth depends on the oceans? come back when you know it ! |

Problem in holland is, you need a warm water pumt that hardly fit in any house and makes a lot of noise. You need heaters in the floor as well, etcetra. For some houses it could be a good soution, when it is further developed. A nuclear plant would do the trick easier and cheaper. And people paying while Shell doesn´t pay any taxes and Germany helped their brown coal indusrty for decades with money cause the brown coal from other countries was cheaper. How is it possible, Germany spending blllions to subside brown coal mines (than they don't care about free trade and protecting markets, when it is their own interest) Since this year they import it from their friends in Russia. |

I was reading an article the other day about flouride, seems it has the negative effect of calcifiying the pineal gland among other things but don't know if there's any scientific proof to it.

I'm on the fence. Logically thinking with all the cars and pollution there must be some effect on the climate, but there are many astrophysicists out there that disagree with the consensus on global warming. And of course there are many on both sides that are bought and paid for...just look at Al Gore...that asshole said NYC would be underwater by 2014.
And just last week they said we were getting an inch of snow and 8 hours laster we got a foot dumped on us. If they can't predict the weather in 8 hours, how the hell are they predicting it 10-20 yrs from now? |

Astrophysics is the study of the nature of stars and other celestial bodies, so I doubt they study the Earths climate. But if they did have an opinion on the matter they all would agree on climate change since the evidence of what CO2 does to a planet is right in our own backyard on Venus. Over 850 degrees Fahrenheit all due to CO2 in the atmosphere. It is hotter than Mercury which is the closest planet to the sun. |

FBI Directory McCabe is selling a book, and has had his findings about Trump dismissed on GFY because of it. I won't dismiss Spencer's ideas because he is selling books, but I think you would agree that maybe his website and its contents could be used to backup any claims in his books and help sell them. It's at least possible, right? So anyway : On his website he talks a lot about CO2 and how little of it there is in the atmosphere, but he doesn't really talk about the other greenhouse gasses except in passing from what I could see. But as I kept reading I found a lot of things that he was just wrong on. I googled him and found some sites like these https://www.skepticalscience.com/ske...oy_Spencer.htm. Maybe this is true, maybe its bullshit. My point is that this is just 1 scientist. He could be right, but, I would prefer to put my trust in agencies like NASA and NOAA who have many more testing methods at their disposal, and have many many scientists looking at all of the data, instead of just one guy selling books. I'm not saying he's wrong and you are wrong in this argument - I'm just saying that neither you nor I are scientists - but I am choosing to believe that the earth is warming up, and that it can be a disaster, and that I don't want to really just sit on my hands about it. Yes. Agreed. No I don't believe it is. (If NASA and NOAA say its real, then...) No that's not correct. From https://climate.nasa.gov/resources/global-warming/ :

And if politicians are just trying to get money for themselves, what do you say about politicians who are trying trying to convince us that everything is fine, to relax emission standards on cars, and fire up more coal plants. Isn't it possible that they are doing a money grab? For example in Feb 11 2019 Trump helped Murray Energy (Coal). The CEO, Robert Murray is a major Trump supporter and donor. Trump himself even tweeted about this https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/...80896342814720 Don't be fooled! Peace. |

And there are many Astrophysicists that disagree with the consensus on global warming. So being a layperson, it's pretty damn confusing when you have 2 highly intelligent people that study the same field come to 2 completely different conclusions. And shit, throw in the monetary factor that a lot of these people get paid off to say one thing or the other ... wow I don't understand how people can form a concrete position. |
