Anyone have any experience selling domains through Godaddy? - GoFuckYourself.com

I have a few domains listed for sale on Godaddy. Last night I received an email from Godaddy telling me 'Congratulations! Your Premium Listings domain has sold!', but due to the amount ($22,000) the transaction was being processed through Escrow.com. I went to escrow.com and created an account and the status says 'Awaiting buyer payment'. So of course now I'm wondering if this person is going to pay.

Anyone that has experience with this what is a normal time frame for escrow.com to receive the money and how often do people commit to buying only to back out?

Congratulations on the sale, I hope it goes through for you.

I have done quite a few deals using Escrow, not for domains though.

I would expect an Escrow deal to take 4-10 business days for everything to clear out and you to get your cash. This of course depends on the responsiveness of the other party.

I have a few premium keyword domains, now I'm thinking about listing them…

It's kind of like ebay where anyone can sign up and bid on your domain. Of course if it's some street shitter in India you're not getting paid. I wouldnt count those chickens yet. Had it happen to me several times.

Thanks for that info. I actually had that particular domain listed for over a year. It is a mainstream domain that was registered in 1996 and made me tons of money for over 15 years so there is some traffic still going to it. I didnt really price it to sell fast but figured what the hell, let see what happens.

I hear you. I have around 60 domains that I think fit in a similar wheelhouse. I don't care if I sell them or not so I will price them high.

That's great, did you finally sell lovecity.com? I've had both good and bad experiences getting paid with domain escrow situations, so hopefully your buyer comes through. For that amount, I'd give it a couple days before you start to worry. I had a buyer finally pay after getting email notices for 3 days.
