excoclick stole my money

Ok I hope I don't get banned for a few years again... but wtf?

As a new client to ExoClick we undertake a number of verification checks to ensure the company and existing clients are not at risk.

We regret to inform you that we were unable to get through this process and your account has been closed. Don't worry, your funds will be returned to you within 1-2 working days!

Please note we do not enter into discussions about the checks we carry out, or what prevented you from working with us.

We do however wish you the best of luck in your future business plans.

Really for $200?

I'll dispute it but really if they are that sorry of losers they can keep the $200 lol

FYI has not "returned" it

What website did your ads point to?
That would make a difference.

Not going to post ads on a public message board. But does anything justify being a shit company stealing $200? I don't think so. My lunch cost more than that.

Because if they're willing to steal $200 from him, then how much have they stole from other people who chalked it up to "it wasn't much, why bother"

Doesn't matter if it's $1 or $1M. They stole. They should be called out.

Yes but this could be simply malfunctioned automated process. Revenue of exoclick group is millions on monthly bases, so i kind a doubt they would resort to such things. Every big company have such stories, paypal, facebook, you name it.

I don't care if they make millions but really steal $200??

they could simply refund it on the dispute. I don't care if its automated its been over the days they said it would refund. I can easily go over buy their shit spots if I was a dick head but im not like that, I don't do shitty business.

Like I said I manage a very large portfolio and steal $200 is stupid. Is that what it has come to? I was very big in this space for a long time.

Come on Klen, you've been here how long. You've seen this scenario go down so many times.

Or have you forgotten about ePassport and the other countless companies that "do millions on monthly basis" that have fucked over their customers.

Exactly, that is why i know how things works. But what is also often with big companies, how they dont care if things like this happen, since they know how things like that wont affect them. Exoclick is particularly known case as they are ad network which have no problem to put on worst pirate sites like piratebay, and they wont be affected as long they have traffic which convert. And epassporte case is relative, i though paxum will go bananas after choice bank fiasco, but they are still operational, tho i dont use them anymore due bad handling.

calm down - this is not unusual in the biz that new account gets declined.

exo is such a big player they will really not need your 200 bucks.

but you said that you have paid with paypal and i expect that you get the transfer back also on paypal.

and if not you can always callback this money and this is the problem what is on paypals end and not on exo´s.

because they can not simply transfer back - they have to wait til paypal have credited the amount on their account and THAN they can send it back. otherwise they would send you money and you can call it back additionally.

this can take up to a few business days and exo have no influence on that.

account declines can have a lot of reasons. as i do not know the circumstances I can only assume that

1. the targeted link have some rules that send parts of the traffic to some kind of smartlink (this will lead the traffic to uncontrollable targets and no adnetwork wants that)
2. the target website has issues that are not going along with the network rules.

and many many other things can lead to such a decline.
and believe me THIS is not without reason as there are a lot of scammers out there
that are damaging the reputation of publishers´s websites.

here networks can not react "in dubio pro reo" if they want to keep their publishers and other advertisers happy.
believe me - this bis is not so easy as it looks on the first view.

isnt there option in paypal to decline/reverse received payment ?

i have seen it when i receive payment from programs., so why is it hard for exoclick to reverse the payment ? provided OP is not lying.

yes there is - but it can take a while til paypal proceeds it.

the point here is that most paypal account have a creditcard in the background and not a balance.

so let´s say you have a paypal account with no funds on it but a credit card.
now you pay something to me.
the amount will be immediately in my account but in case your credit card declines the payment I will have a problem because paypal reserves the right on business accounts to book it back and i am the loser at the end.

in the upper mentioned case it can be like that.
he made a payment with paypal but paypal does not have the money yet from the card.

and this is the reason why such transactions can really take a while.
but that should only be the case when there is no physical money on the payers paypal account but a CC.

i mean to understand that issue you need to understand their (mafia) concept.
a big part of their profit is money that they have in their hands and just virtually book credit from one account to the other.

if you want this money in cash it becomes fucking expensive.

in this special case they would have to send money back what they do not even have on this mountain of "working money" and this stands in opposite to their concept as they want to make money on EVERY transaction even when it is cancelled.

Where did they steal from him? they are going to return the funds, clearly in the email they sent it says

this is exactly the point.

i think you have to see always 2 sides of the medal and I can not believe that any adnetwork in the world would steal 200 FIRST dolllars from a customer who can bring them hundreds of thousands in revenue in the future.

no ad-network would decline revenues if there is not a good reason or a high risk. they would be idiots and never would become the biggest adult ad network in the world with idiots.

the only ways such a problem can happen is when people do not understand the rules or want to fraud the rules.

the mere assumption that an ad-network, which generates 100 million in sales annually, puts its reputation on the line to steal 200 dollars is so ridiculous that one of the two reasons is certainly true.

We regret to inform you that we were unable to get through this process and your account has been closed. Don't worry, your funds will be returned to you within 1-2 working days!

Seems pretty professional to me.
Nope. Noda. The reply was actually pretty unprofessional its one button in paypal and holds no liability. Could have done it in the time the guy took to send the long drawn out douchy email.

Nope. I knew I wouldn't. Reason for starting the thread.

I manage a portfolio that is probably half the size of the whole industries portfolio and it was just a weird email to send. Knew something was fishy.

wow that's a good start

in all seriousness, hope you get the issue resolved. pretty sure their reps are active here and they are big players, so i think calling for help (instead of just plainly calling out) will definitely help.
