I dont use delivery but i'v seen them in action - they ring with phone, leave package on porch, and then wait for receiver to show up and pick it up while they sit in their car.

It's the same "No Contact Delivery" when packages are delivered to the house. They can leave it on the porch but what about everyone else that sneezed on it at the warehouse.

Ya gotta put on a mask and gloves / Carry the package into the garage / Disinfect it / Cut the box open / Make sure the box doesn't touch your clothes - It's a real pain in the ass.

The point is to protect the delivery dude, not you. The guy comes in close contact with a hundred of people every day, it makes sense they want to protect them.

There is currently no evidence the virus is spread through food. If you were afraid of someone "touching and coughing on your food", then you couldn't shop in a grocery store which hundreds of other people visit every day.

Also, all people are forced to wear masks and clean their hands. High temperature kills bacteria and viruses, so food preparation and deliveries are not a problem with proper hygienic measures.

I was in a Popeyes, you had to wait 6 ft away till the order was made, then the cashier backed away while you paid. I was never within 6 ft of anyone while I was in there.
