(Serious Post -Potential Problem) Any plans for PimpRoll to introduce SSL certs for HostedTube?
Just wondering if its in the works to have SSL installed on the HostedTube sites? Obviously, as I /we just redirect our domains to their servers, there's no way to do it ourselves.
When I visit my tubes on my Windows 10 PC, I get the following: ![]() As you can see, none of the images come in. When I right click and choose 'display image' I get nothing, and when I right click 'Display image in new tab' I get the following warning from my ISP... ![]() Now I can understand that its something that 'MY ISP' is doing, but I *think* it could be due to the fact that the images come from an 'unsecure' server. Again, while this is undoubtedly probably only applicable to me, on my PC with my ISP, I am on the most popular provider for the whole of Great Britain (BT Internet) Likewise, I have no way of knowing if this happens with other providers, in other parts of the world. This is not unique to just this one particular tube - its the same for all of them. So if everyone in the UK using BT, sees hosted tubes like this, then there must be a larger problem. Heaven only knows about the rest of the world! So, with my limited understanding, a SSL cert would prevent this, would it not? Still, either way, at least I've made it public. I'm using a Win 10 PC, fully updated with the chrome browser, Version 87.0.4280.88 (Official Build) (64-bit) - So probably the most common variant of most users in Great Britain. It does the same for me in Firefox too, so could it be the lack of SSL that is causing this? The most peculiar part, is that it all seems fine on my iMac, (A less popular choice of computer) running chrome, on the same network and internet connection as my Windows box. Had I not happened to check on windows, which I don't use for work, Id never have known, as my imac, my work computer, works fine... ? . |

OK, so I've looked into it further, and yes, it is BT with a feature for windows PCs designed to keep me safe. I was able to go into my BT account and switch it off, however I never turned it on to begin with!
Meaning that its a function that has been activated on my behalf, by BT, although they gave me no warning of it at all. therefore I can assume that it has been / will be activated by BT across all of their systems. Will SSL certs help? I don't know, that's above my level of knowledge, but going by the fact that I get warned by chrome every so often that a site may be unsafe if it doesn't have SSL, then this might be what is triggering BT defences? I dunno. Anyhoo, just glad to have got to the bottom of it... . |

Why post here with account issues when you have my contact?
If images aren't displaying right then its something that needs to be fixed, it has nothing to do with SSL. Hit me up directly please.
