Ohhhh.
I only got a few lights, maybe I'll add more. My graphics card looks like a fucking DVD player inside the cabinet. I really like it. Played Metro Exodus and Cyberpunk on max graphics and this machine kicks serious ass. |

Did you built it yourself or oder it?
I stopped building computers back in 2002. There is a certain threshold you cross where you go from trying to build a "great" computer by hand to save money vs just odering a "great" computer off the shelf when money is not a concern. I've been buying Alienware for a long time now. Some people will say you are spending too much money because of a "name" and that might be true, but... It's just easier than building a computer and you can get a great computer just by clicking a few buttons.

Great specs, you just need to add another storage. But if 500gb is enough, then you are good to go.

Ok so the shit is brand new and the fan suddenly started making noise like 10 mins ago. It began when I shut down Cyberpunk. The fan feels loose or pressed against the back of the cabinet. It's weird cuz I hadn't touched or moved it since I placed it there on Friday and it never made a sound.

i would have gone for a larger drive. i upgraded my PCs from 500 gb to 2TB and 1TB nvme drives. everything else seems dope.
I tried gaming on a 3070 once.. then moved it to the mining rig..so now i game on a 970 ![]()

Serious answer. Looks pretty good for a pre-built. Normally, in my experience, pre-builts tend to have a component that's under specced. That's how they make their money.
But yours seems good. The real question is "Does it do what you wanted it to do?" If yes, then you are golden. People can get too hung up on specs and figures and speeds etc... When in reality, a lot of it doesn't make any real world difference outside of benchmarks... Enjoy It ![]() |

I think I may need a larger drive, especially with all the games. I was told to not get a SSD drive that was too large, as it's not ideal for performance. But I'm already seeing it's not gonna be enough space.

![]() Not to worry. Just do what I did and grab a 4TB SSD (MY ONE) and plug it into your motherboard. Simples ![]() A m.2 nvme drive for your OS (Directly interfacing with your motherboard) would also have been nice, but not essential. A 4TB drive for games probably is though ![]() FWIW, in mine I have a 500GB m.2 for OS, essential programs (DaVinci Resolve etc) a 3TB 'old fashioned' drive that I use to store data and backups and stuff that doesn't need to be accessed very often, and the Samsung I linked above for my games. XBox Pass for PC and Steam automatically store my games on the 4TB and it all works flawlessly ![]() |

If you want my HONEST opinion, is RIGHT NOW, before you have invested too much time in setting up your PC as you want it, invest in an m.2 for your OS and do a fresh install of windows on it - Keep your 500GB for Data and get a 4TB like mine for games.

If you think logically, with a AAA Game such as Grand theft Auto or Dirt Rally 2.0 coming in at around 90GB... Where did the tech expect you to store the games?

Rog-strix-rtx2080s-o8g-gaming
Does pretty much everything I ask of it. I cant truly say that I've ever been in a situation where I have felt I need to turn the graphic settings down to get a better framerate or anything... I'm not bothered about the 30 series - Not needed atm, by me... I will probably get the next gen when it arrives though, provided it is actually a noticeable improvement for me in a real world setting, and not just numbers on a benchmark. |

well I play mostly racing simulators, so Assetto Corsa Competizione for example is great, as is DiRT Rally 2.0 - But probably the BEST graphics would be Half Life Alyx
With Half Life Alyx, (And the fact its a VR game aside) its like you are actually THERE. Not 'there' as in 'inside a video game' but there as in actually stood on a balcony looking down... But that said, any of the games in the following video would look great on my rig. It can handle the ultra settings on everything ![]() You would be fine for all of the above with your 30 Series card for sure ![]() |

Alternatively, a cheaper budget solution is a Quest 2, which actually appears to offer many advantages over the G2, such as wireless play etc, but in reality, does not offer the same quality of visuals overall. Its down to what you intend to do with it really. If you wanna leap around the room, not have a cable attached and are happy to have more 'arcade' style graphics, then get the Quest 2 - If you want the VERY BEST visual experience possible and want to power it from your PC then the Reverb G2 for sure This video compares the pros n cons of both of them... |

If one day you wish to overclock it - it is better to get more powerful PSU.
Still - really great setup ![]()

Automatic and safe 'Built In' overclocking, yes. Not proper 'nerdy' overclocking where you find a point that the PC gets to hot and crashes, then dial it down.
Overclocking for the non technical people. One click solution... Basically, free extra speed and power, just by ticking a box in your bios... |

Also, while in your bios, ensure XMP is enabled - This allows your ram to run to its full potential speed... Without it, its running at half the speed it is supposed to

I asked and he said pushing the computer to its limits would, in the long run, affect it's durability. Not to mention consume more energy. Is it worth it?

Then, when you go on a motorway, you might do 70mph / 80mph You might even wanna do 90 mph if the situation occurs... But you are rarely gonna do 100mph, even if it can... But imagine now that you get on the motorway and your car will only do a maximum of 50mph. So you visit the dealer who sold you the car and say 'Why does my car only do 50mph ? When I bought it, I was told it would do 100MPH?' Dealer says, oh yeah, it does, but I haven't enabled full speed, because if you can go 100mph, then you will probably drive at 100mph all the time and fuck your car up... So I thought Id limit your car to 50mph cause that's safer. You can still drive it, but you cant drive it anywhere near the potential its been built to be driven... Well its like that with your PC. Just because you are enabling it to work harder and faster IF YOU NEED IT TO DO SO, then it doesn't mean you are going to be running it flat out at 100% all the time. Just that if you need it to give some more, (Like you are playing a very graphically demanding game) then it has it to give... Is it worth it? That's up to you. Look at this video about XMP, and think about the car analogy. You bought ram that runs at a decent speed, but without XMP its only running at the slowest speed possible - Not the speed you paid for... But at the end of the day, its your PC and if you are happy, then that's all that mattered. But if I went to a bar and ordered a pint, and the guy only filled 50% of it up, Id want the rest... And that's it really - You are just getting stuff to work how it should - Not doing some kinda trickery to circumvent things working how they are designed to work. Plus, we are on GFY. Meaning that no one is gonna post that they agree with my advice, but if I was talking utter shit to you, or even telling you to do something that's really not advisable, they would all be flooding in to tell me I'm talking a load of shit and telling you not to listen to me. So yeah, enable XMP on you ram 100% Nope, 1000% ! Any other 'overclock' is entirely up to you, but do your RAM... |
