Hello.
I'm sure you’ve already known about the hostilities against the civilian population of Ukraine.
I am an adult webmaster within 15 years experience in the industry. I also work with many of you as well . I am a resident of Kharkiv city- today we were under fire and many people were died, residents of my city. We sit in shelters.

Russia is killing my fellow citizens, they are not just attacking the military, they are entering the cities.

I ask you to join the sanctions and try to influence the Russians, they are already suffering an economic crisis that has never happened before - but you can participate - block the accounts of those who are from Russia. It is possible for a while - while the war is ongoing. This will increase the pressure on them.
I turn to affiliate programs, sites where there is any monetization, those who trade anything

While noble, I think somewhat pointless. I do not think that blocking some random affiliate webmasters from Russia will cause any large scale harm to the Russian economy, nor does some random affiliate webmaster have any influence on the actions of the Russian government.

Of course, but affiliate program suddenly not paying Russian webmaster money he has earned has absolutely no effect on the danger you face right now. Small Russian webmaster will suddenly lose money and still not be able to do anything to resolve UA issue, big one has company outside of Russia and still cannot do anything about War. Huge sanctions on oligarchs - Villas and Yachts for half a billion seized and that's not doing anything - and that has not even had effect so some guy not getting $300 payment will not make any difference even more so.

Like I said, It's noble you want to help how you can but such a thing wouldn't help anyone in any way and only hurt someone that's already probably hurting.

it's a really fucked up position. one russian guy said it was suppose to be a drill and he said they just started shooting. i think the ukraine started this war. instead of blocking off roads you see clear roads. where were the h barriers? i didnt see anything blocked off. they just sat on their hands.

some of our army vet friends are just suiting up and on they´re on their way over to help the fight, my partner was considering, alas, i demanded he stay here as I need him here with me. Not selfish, but not stupid.

whether a person voted for Putin, voted against him, or was too disillusioned to vote at all, I highly suspect that no one could have been certain it would end up like this

Putin doesn't care if peeps who rely on swift income lose their livelihoods, can't pay rent or afford food. just cuz Russia is targeting civilians doesn't mean those of outside Russia who work with Russian peeps should follow suit in return. I hope that entities that can find a legal way to pay their Russian affs, developers, performers, etc, do so

Did they invite Russia's army with all ammo to their country to a drill with beer and started a war?

In many videos captured aggressor's soldiers (teens 18+) are telling they are thinking still on a drill. In Ukraine's land shooting and bombing civilians.

The main difference that this drill was in Russia and Belarus.

I think whats happening to your country is nothing short of a war crime and will eventually bring the end of Putin's regime

But i dont think you have to worry about us webmasters stopping business with the Russians. Once the SWIFT sanctions kick in, Russian credit cards will no longer work (so no Russian users) and it will be almost impossible for program owners to pay Russian affiliates anyway

Any business we do with the Russians will come to a grinding halt anyway.

we're homeschooling and covered history of classical Greece a few weeks ago. The Peloponnesian War between Athens and Sparta started from very similar circumstances. Athens was spreading democracy and created a large alliance of other states. Sparta was pissed about the alliance because it threatened their sovereignty and political system (military junta). the war raged for 27 years and devastated Greece.

if you watch Putin's speech yesterday, he's pissed about the same thing. NATO expanding to his doorstep. plus some harsh words about the West and threatening nuclear destruction.
