Online gambling illegal in Canada?
Is it illegal for someone to gamble online in Canada?
I have looked around a lot through the criminal code, and as far as I can tell, it IS. I have no attorney, so I wrote a few Canadian gaming law ones but haven't heard back from anyone. |

Probably is because the govt can't tax it, that is they can't tax the owner/operator. Winnings are tax free so I doubt it has anything to do with the actual gambler.
Cant say for sure though, but hey we can marry our manlovers and get high doing it so its not all bad  |

The advice I just received from a lawyer a few minutes ago is to steer clear. Even promoting an affiliate program is questionable at best. See section 202. Although it does not mention online specifically, it can certainly be interpreted that way.

You can run a Casino and Host it in the Indians Territory 30-40 min from montreal, no tax, no bullshit, you can even sell weapon of mass destruction, drugs cigarette etc.. no problem
