One of the most difficult things in the world to come to terms with is when your parents die. My dad died suddenly in 1987. Didn't get to say goodbye. I had talked to him that week fortunately, and I always ended my call to him with I love ya dad. 16 years have passed now and I've yet to find a way to heal that part of my heart. Its like an emptiness that just never goes away.

Sometimes I look at pictures of him and I together when I was growing up and the tears will just come streaming out. I dream of him all the time and I sense the presence of his spirit around me often.

So always tell your folks how much you love them and that you appreciate all they did for you growing up. Cause you never know when it might be your last words together.

i've been doing a lot for my parents the past couple of years. going the extra mile for them - i certainly am not looking forward to the day my father dies... i think about it fairly often now.

same here. my world is completely different since my dad passed away 5 years ago. barely an hour goes by when i don't think about him for a brief moment. freaks me out sometimes, i still can't believe he's not somewhere out there.

we're not a mushy demonstrative family but everybody knows they are loved no matter how dysfunctional it all is.

I owe my life to my parents and my wife.. they helped me change my life around.. I would be serving 4-10 in vacaville youth authority by now if they had'nt..

So you bet your ass I tell my parents I love them..

I got TUFF LOVE on my knuckles as a daily reminder of what my parents did for me..

As often as possible (every phone call, every visit), as well as a big bear hug and a kiss.
It just about killed me when my grandmother died - I don't even want to think about life without my parents in it.

good point..I don't remember when I said that and I'm still a teen.
