I just received a bunch of "bounced" emails.

Emails that I never sent!

I'm going to take a big leap here and say some fucktard is spoofing me and spamming adult webmasters with the return address as one of mine.

MOST of the "bounced" emails have a .pif attached and I won't open it up because I don't know what the fuck it is!

WTF is it? Just an email file? A virus?

Anybody?

Yeah man - DO NOT open those.

It's most likely the sobig virus.

And if you don't already run one, get a easy to use software firewall like Tiny Personal Firewall 2.0.15 (The last freeware version)

It will let you know when your programs like explorer.exe have been changed and also what programs are accepting and requesting connections (and allow you to block them).

It's like zonealarm, but better

If your email is being used it's because as some point you did open one of those attachments and you are partially responsible for all this bullshit. If people wouldn't be opening those fucking things the virus would never work.

So with that being said I know that everyone I've received has come from an email address of someone who fucking opened it, so after the first day I start bouncing all of that shit back to those fucktards instead of just deleting it.

unfortunately not true. the viruses out there scan your entire drive. I think an early version of sobig in fact. I can't say if variants are still doing it, but I don't see why they'd cut out features...

The answer is yes ... ok, I've been living under a rock!

I'm working so hard building galleries with my dreamweaver, submitting my galleries to TGP's and link lists that I haven't updated my virus protection.

I made $160 last month and this is only my 6th month in the business full time, so there!

Build gallerries, submit them, watch news for virus updates, read emails from my ISP, and update virus protection!

Did I get that all straight? If that is what it takes to be successful in this business, I'm in!

Wow, tomorrow is going to be a long day!

I know I can be successful so I will keep trying.

What do you mean, what I said is true, you can't get used by it unless you've opened it at some point. I'm on a mac too so it doesn't affect me either.

Your virus protection should be set to automatically update itself, and should also be set to scan your HD once a week, say in the middle of the night when you are sleeping. Norton Anti Virus would be a good start. Scan your computer with it, install it, update the definitions, you should be good to go.

You can also scan for viruses using Symantec's online scanner. They also have many removal tools for you to use on their site.

Don't open any attachments that come to you unless you know exactly what they are and who they came from!!!

Visit windowsupdate.microsoft.com and patch your shit so the exploit these viruses take advantage of will be closed. Keep your critical update notification running. It would have told you a month and a half ago to patch your OS.

Try keeping CNN running in the background on the TV or check their site from time to time. Should take you 15 min to get caught up on worldly issues every day.

Other than that, good luck with your ventures! Sorry for being an ass.

Here is a free piece of software that I picked up a week of so ago. Anyone that knows me, knows I am the most reluctant person around when it comes to adding new software to my system, but this comes from a very reliable source, and this puppy works like a charm.

Set it to check every minute, and it will delete the incoming mail off your server before you ever get a chance to see it.

When you get a reply back from a virus scanner on another server or computer saying mail was not delivered because of an virus while you didnt send out anything does NOT mean you are infected.

People that are infected and have surfed several websites (like yours) most likely also have their (your) email cached so what the virus will do is see your email, spoof it when sending itself and send a virus to hun @ thehun.net, his server will reject it and send the reject mail to the from line in this case you.

Norton Anti Virus would be a good start. Scan your computer with it, install it, update the definitions, you should be good to go. You can also scan for viruses using Symantec's online scanner. They also have many removal tools for you to use on their site. Don't open any attachments that come to you unless you know exactly what they are and who they came from!!! Visit windowsupdate.microsoft.com and patch your shit so the exploit these viruses take advantage of will be closed. Keep your critical update notification running. It would have told you a month and a half ago to patch your OS. Try keeping CNN running in the background on the TV or check their site from time to time. Should take you 15 min to get caught up on worldly issues every day. Other than that, good luck with your ventures! Sorry for being an ass.

Anyone that knows me, knows I am the most reluctant person around when it comes to adding new software to my system, but this comes from a very reliable source, and this puppy works like a charm. Set it to check every minute, and it will delete the incoming mail off your server before you ever get a chance to see it.

People that are infected and have surfed several websites (like yours) most likely also have their (your) email cached so what the virus will do is see your email, spoof it when sending itself and send a virus to hun @ thehun.net, his server will reject it and send the reject mail to the from line in this case you.
