That's very cool. I've never seen a model plane that didn't have a propeller. Does it have little jet engines?

WOW! That's unreal. I've always been fascinated by model airplanes and such. But this tops the list of coolness.

HOLY SHIT that was the coolest thing i seen all week.

seems like it takes two people to fly that shit. I wonder how much something like that costs... Hell that would be cool if it had a camera in front of it and you can pilot that shit like a video game.

hey yeah I fly these and lots of other R/C planes.

Turbines rule, but they are way expensive and you need special waivers to fly them since they are an explosive hazard if they go in.

Lots of links to people that sell jets
http://www.jetadic.com/links.html#commercial

The smallest engine is about $3k and the biggest about $5k, ouch.

Extremely cool though

naa you can get them cheaper. A Wren-54 (12lbs. thrust) with full autostart runs about 1700 US.

Now these jets are pretty cool and stuff but the thing that would really get me hard is a scale-model B52 with mini-jetengines and all the other crap. Hell, maybe even with bombing-options. That would really rock my world!

I read somewhere that some of these models actually have small firable missiles and stuff. Anyone with a videolink?

here's a picture of one of my models.
This is a giant 100 inch wingspan Cessna Skylane.
The front tire came off saturday during a flight and the nosegear dug in a caused some damage.

Looks like a private organization. Seems kind of weird there would be a a private org you'd have to join to make something legal. That's like saying I have to be a AAA member to drive my car legally.

I'm saying all of this before I read the site, just seemed strange to me at first glance

almost all fields are ama sanctioned which means you need an AMA card which is a 2 million dollar liability insurance in case you hurt yourself or someone

and yeah BVM is the tops in jets but you will pay out your ass for one.
I personally prefer Yellow Aircraft

the fastest clocked is around 310mph

almost all have a speed limiting sustem to keep you under 225mph.

At 200mph it will cross the horizon faster than you can move your thumbs on the stick, so flying that fast can be a creepy ordeal.
