Strange Ghost Stories (true or false?)

The Fairplay Hotel I have stayed at... There are newspaper stories posted all over the hotel about haunted stories.
Fairplay is a old Ghost Town that was one of the first places opened during the gold rush.

I swear I thought I heard moaning and the boards creaking in my roon the one night I stayed there.

Fairplay Hotel - Fairplay, Colorado

Many people today believe that the hotel is haunted by a woman's ghost who harks back to this era. Affectionately known as 'Julia', She returns to the hotel every year in late October, drawn by her memories of dancing upoun the hotel's wooden floors during the town's annual Harvest Dance. Sometimes, after a late night (and often a few too many drinks!), residents have reported sightings of 'Julia', as well as claiming to have heard music on the dance floor accompanied by rhythmic creaking of the planks, as though 'Julia' was again dancing under a harvest moon.

Hand Hotel - Fairplay, Colorado

In Fairplay, the historic Hand Hotel, bordered by dirt streets and filled with century-old furniture, is home, still, to Grandma Hand. Grandma, it is said, likes her room just as she left it. Once, when a guest tried to take a nap in his (Grandma's) room, he kept hearing a woman's voice asking for her rocking chair. After searching other rooms, he brought back a rocking chair and the voice was stilled. The ghost of a dark mastiff has been seen repeatedly at the Hand Hotel. One guest saw and felt the dog pull the bed covers off her. When she tried to re-cover herself, the dog bared its teeth and disappeared. Five years ago, a young boy was attacked by the mastiff as he and his father were building a haunted house for Halloween in the hotel's basement. Former hotel owner Pat Pocius confirmed dog bites on the boy's hand, as did a doctor.

We have many similar...One restaurant has many sightings.Delivery drivers and people refuse to work there late at night or early mornings...The ghosts turn on taps and turn around chairs and appear in windows...harmless but many people have spotted them...

~ The Stanley Hotel ~ Estes Park, Colorado

The Stanley Hotel began construction in 1906 and opened in 1909. F. O. Stanley and his wife Flora built their home nearby and then this hotel. F.O. built a hydroelectric plant up in the mountains so as the hotel could be all electric. He even had phones in every room. Both were quite a luxury at the time.

Many celebrities and tourists have enjoyed the Stanley over the years. Most notably, Stephen King, who wrote half of "the Shining" in room 217. Past employees have mentioned hearing footsteps and seeing various apparitions. The place Stephen King stayed for five months while writing "The Shining" has countless stories of its own. The ghosts of the owners are still around.

In the music room, Mrs. Stanley's favorite, you may hear the piano playing by itself. Cooks and bus staff report music coming from a ballroom, that stops when they walk in. Or you may feel the presence of Mr. F.O. Stanley around the lobby or in his favorite space, the Billiard room. Bartenders have seen the ghost of F.O. Stanley stroll through, disappearing when they go to cut him off at the kitchen.

Tour guides tell the story of the ghost of a small child seen by many of the staff, and reportedly even by King himself, calling out to his nanny on the second floor near the famed room made famous by the movie and novel.

The fourth floor is the old servant quarters and fairly active with spirits. You will notice the narrow corridors. The sound of children playing in the halls is common. Even when there isn't a child in the building. The center of the activity in the hotel seems to be the very active room 418.

Hotel Del Coronado - California

Although the resort has hosted many visitors over the years, there is one guest - Kate Morgan - who some say has been here since 1892. In November 1892, Kate checked into the hotel - broken-hearted and alone. Five days later, she was found dead on the beach, a gunshot wound to her head. Apparently, Kate had killed herself after a quarrel with her estranged husband. Since that time, resort guests, associates, and even paranormal researchers have attested to the fact that Kate's former room is haunted by her spirit.
