My Blue Kitty...May he rest in peace.

This is my second geriatric cat to pass on this year. Princess in January at the age of 19 and now Blue, her best buddy, at the age of 16.

RIP BooBooKitty

Thanks all.

6 other kitties here in the house, but it seems so empty tonight. Blue had spent the last week or so sleeping on my pillow right against my head. I even half asked him one night if he was trying to tell me something....wishing he could of answered me.

I'm sorry to hear that, PersianKitty.

You guys are making my stomach churn. I have a cat, now, because my girlfriend wanted one. This cat is the first pet I've owned in a long time. I've had and lost many, many pets over the years and it's always like losing a friend. I don't care what anyone says, you can and do become attatched to animals just like you do to other people. I've tried to warn my girlfriend that every single relationship with a pet ends the same way no matter how well you take care of them. I don't think she really understands that but I do.

No matter how long they live, it's never long enough.

Yes.. Blue was a Russian Blue. Vet that I went to when he was young told me that he was as close to purebred if not completely, but I got him at the pound.

My Smokey is my persian kitty.. he's got the blue color also.

All my pixie bobs are running around here trying to mess with me this morning. I know they missed Blue ruling the bed last night.

So sorry PK - I know how you're feeling.
Lost my Emmett kitty a week ago Friday night. I tamed him and his brother "Doodle" from wild ass barn cats. They were nearly inseparable. Doodle is still lost without him, but we're making a house cat out of him now.
I've only had 2 other cats in my life. Patches lived until she was 21 and Nubbin (bobtailed) who was killed by the neighbor's dog when she was around 11.
They're like family members.... more so than my dogs.. as it seems that WE are always trying to please the cats, whereas a dog is always trying to please us.

Aren't cats wonderful!

I remember my older brother once telling me that he was suspicious of those who didn't like animals.

Well, I am leary of those who don't like specifically cats. Asia Carrera adopts cats from the shelter. She can afford any expensive cat with papers, but she takes the ones from her local shelter. She is on the edge of the fire zone. I hope her kitties are safe.

I just came from the Simi Valley area where we rescued some beautiful domestic cats. If this cute little black and white kitten isn't claimed, I would like to keep her. The problem is: if the owners of these rescued animals have lost their homes, where do they take their pets? Many of them put up their beloved pets for adoption because they have no where to keep them.

I'm glad, PK, that you have other animals. I think it is more diffcult to accept the loss if you have no other kitties around you.

Two questions: How is your son who was in the cat accident? And how about an update on those dental implants.
