Plug in and Filters are for noobs.
 If you really must have them, you can download tons of Adobe shit (brushes, shapes, actions, etc...) right here. http://share.studio.adobe.com/Default.asp  You can thank me later.

You can use Knockout 2.0 (maybe a newer version is out) but I prefer to do it all by hand. Just zoom in, click and move...it's time consuming but you'll get a lot smoother of a cut out if you do it that way.
