As long as the url isn't ten inches long, just do up a nice description, title, and block of keywords, and set it up for the robots to be able to send out the spiders to it. There's two kinds of spiders though, so set it up in the pages themselves, and also in a robot file. That way you get them all. That's about all there is to it. Submit it every so often, but don't get stupid with it, or they'll see it as spam.

I'm not the expert on SEs unlike nickbaauw who knows a lot.
Just few tips concerning optimization that might help some webmasters.
- SE's are count a lot the word relevancy. Don't expect a page with 2 sentences to be indexed or pages with 2000 times the same word. They require a balance trying to avoid spamming that some webmasters used in the past to rank their pages high.
- Long urls sometimes work better than short ones. Google pay them attention and many of the rank very high.
- Avoid the words: porn and sex, they are both banned from Google for sure and probably from other SEs also.
- Use long titles, but not a whole article. I think up to 120 letters is ok.
- Don't use javascript to redict the traffic, because they will drop your listing.
- Don't use the same color for "spamming keywords" inside your body with the one your background is trying to hide it. If you want to do so, use tables to trick the SEs.
- Stay away from link popularity farms, if they ban them your domains will be banned too.
- Submit to dmoz, many search engines take listings from there and put them first.
- Mail hun, green guy and tommybookmark to put a link to you in order to link high

This is not SE optimization. This is "Web Page Creation 101". I'll stick with my methods for the SEs.

Yeah... this'll work 9 times out of ten. Are you kidding me? If any one of them get an email saying "Please link to me so I will rank higher in the SEs..." they're all gonna spew coffee onto their keyboards.

Soul_rebel is correct here.

All SE's use varying formula to determine a sites worthiness for position, many also use link lookup to improve position and avoid unfair ranking. Optimisation is the careful balancing of keys, description, heading, body text, link text, heading text and the all important keyword relevance and prominence within these fields. The latest SE likes and dislikes are available at a price.

This is called SE optimisation and often applies to pages beyond the index and made specially for this purpose.

Google have not actually banned these words, its just that due to the quantity of sites using them in submission the level of rejection is very high if they are found.
