Nixon, actually. I can see how you'd forget, for some reason they don't seem to be giving any memorial to these victims on network TV. Don't think for a second Bush wouldn't do the same thing if Americans had the backbone to stand up to the government today. The army and police don't protect the people, they protect the bankers and politicians from the people. This was the national guard gunning down unarmed college kids who opposed the war in Vietnam in cold blood, for those who don't know.

I realize you weren't born for another 20 years after this happened, but people used to oppose the government when they committed crimes. Bitching on CNN is not opposing. Protesting with permits is not opposition. During the Vietnam war there was real opposition, and they were put down by the military. This was not the only incident during that time. The same was true during and after the civil war, protests and strikes were put down violently by the military. Don't worry, no one expects someone with absolutely no grasp of history to understand this, or even to understand why it's wrong to use a nation's army against it's own citizens.

What's not said above is some idiot student set off a pack of fireworks in the crowd which made the National Guard troops start shooting !

What did you make up? Let's see, name one person in history who's ever thrown a fire bomb at a cop car and then complained about being arrested.

The ROTC building wasn't burned down at Kent State, although some people tried. I'm all for the police arresting those who damage property and hurt officers, what's wrong is when the government sends in troops to randomly shoot into a crowd of protesters. I'm sorry that you're too conditioned to separate the two, I'm not going to continue trying to explain it to you.

First of all, I didn't spread any "mis truths", whatever the fuck that means, I posted a picture and a song. This thread was supposed to be a tribute until the usual idiots started saying idiotic things. Your reference to my mindset was ludicrous and oversimplified, as is almost everything I've ever seen you post. I never so much as implied anyone who did anything violent or destructive shouldn't be punished, I think they should. Some of these kids who were shot weren't even involved in the protests. Second, I didn't use this as "ammo to put down Bush" at all. I just said nothing has changed since then in the attitude of the government and a large percentage of the people, which is absolutely true. People should remember events like this, instead of forgetting about them like the government would like you to. If you think the current government wouldn't do the same thing, well, you're as ignorant as I thought.

You can keep spitting out nonsense, I don't really know what point you're trying to make but I'm glad you think it's your obligation to put down and twist everything I say.
