.XXX Why isn't anything being done about it?
....
Is everyone focused on 2257 still? Or did we just decide to take a break and do nothing for a bit. |

Properly educate people about .xxx so that other organisations can run around and terrify the webmasters with spin? http://www.iffor.com WHY IS A VOLUNTARY .xxx TLD NEEDED? The online adult-entertainment industry is one of the largest and fastest growing sectors of the Internet. The Internet and the various stakeholders will benefit greatly from responsible self-regulation. According to Reuters, online adult-oriented ecommerce is worth more than $3 billion USD globally and is growing at a double-digit rate. The number of adult websites has grown 18-fold over the last six years alone. ? More than 10% of all online traffic and 25% of all global Internet searching is adult-content oriented with more than 100,000 adult webmasters worldwide and well over one million adult domains. Responsible members of the adult entertainment industry have identified a need to work together to: Develop mechanisms to reach only those online users who want to use their products or services; Respond to the growing demand from child and family safety groups to ensure the Internet is safer; and Respond to the privacy, security, and consumer protection concerns of their audience. Read up for yourself ![]() http://icmregistry.com/ This industry needs regulation and I support it.

Some might attempt to dispute the outlines, and some will say its all about money.
Well yeah it is about money. But look at both sides of the fence before judging just who will be loosing money in it's wake and then you can see why they are crying about it using any method possible to instill doubt to the sheep.

This one has pretty much removed all doubt you are being paid or were offered something to be their stooge. You believe in it so much Q can I have the right from you, that if I lose my business because of .xxx, I can sue you for every dime you ever make? If you believe in it being a success and such a good thing for our industry it should be no problem to agree to that.

Assuming anything 'could' be a mistake.
You can't explain it to me? Come on, just cut through the rhetoric and the digs and answer the questions. They are not hard questions are they? |

I agree that folks should have it on their sites, but the Content Advisor works even for those sites without it. Part of the problem is parents not utilizing the tools in front of them. The WWW is not the best babysitter. |

Something is being done ... I grabbed http://StopXXX.com awhile back.
An idea I have for it is an informational site about xxx with affiliate links to pre-reg / drop services, domain registrars, adult sites, etc. In the meantime StopXXX.com is for sale - if interested (only offers over $1000 USD please), email me asap at [email protected] Ron p.s. have many other domains for sale ... click sig for details - many reduced; ask prices are subject to change any time prior to final sale - act now!

What I would have liked to have seen is the adult webmaster community act in a reasonable manner; but greed is the most powerful force in the universe so here we are. "I can send 3 million unwanted emails a day" *slobber* "I can use deceptive keywords on my site to trick people into viewing content they didn't intend to" *drool* |

Yes, I'd have to agree with you Sultan, unfortunately
![]() One thing I have done for SPAM to my kids.... They have their own domains, and I have activated email for each. Then I set a rule for the subject line which requires a specific word, phrase, or password that must be included for the email to show. If the email doesn't have the pass in the subject my kids never see it. This way their Mom can send them an email if she desires and I don't have to worry about getting any junk in their mail. Not the perfect solution for me, but it works for now. But yes, it is too bad I have to do it this way. I personally try to only use sponsors that don't allow SPAM of any sort, which I am sure limits me(only a little), but I don't want to be the one whining on the board because my sponsors assets have been frozen. The deceptive keywords(and buying previous nonadult doms for adult use) I have whined about for a long time too. Not sure of any solutions for this or anything else really besides the parents really learning what the web is about and being proactive with it. Way too much information on the web for our youngsters, and not just necessarily porn. A parent that lets their kid have unlimited access to the web, may as well just leave their kids unattended in (pick your favorite bad neighbourhood) This is too long ![]() |

The only thing people will do about .XXX is buy them ALL the day they go on sale.
Later down the road when we get forced into giving up our .coms and all stuck in this online red light zone, we will all claim "we never saw it coming" and you will see 10000 rants on the boards about it. And even then, nothing will be done about it. The adult industry lives with it's pants around it's ankles waiting to be fucked over and over and over again. We never learn our lesson, we don't police ourselves and we will do anything for a buck. Few webmasters are even responsible when it comes to paying another webmaster, let alone when it comes to something as serious as this. This is not about the kids, this is about money. On all ends. This is simply a power business move. This is not going to stop the creation of child porn or access to it. ![]() After 2257 and after we all have .XXX... what do you think is going to happen? It will not end there. |
