looking to buy a new pc, where should I buy?

I am looking at getting a nice gaming pc, like SLI graphics cards, dual core, etc... I like the alienware but think I can do better on price.

What do you recommend getting? or buying from?

Have one made to your specs. Most off the shelf pc's are not suited for gaming.

has nice systems. You pay out the ass though. If you can build one yourself you would be better off.

You might have a hard time getting an SLI system for that little, depending on what parts you want to buy. I think the Geforce 7800 GTX's run around $500 each, so you need two of those. So you are at $1000 just for video cards.

Find a reputable site that offers custom, generic systems that you can configure to your heart's content. Don't buy from Dell, Sony, HP, whatever. Make sure they have a solid reputation (search on that) as well as configuration options you want.

Fuck alienware, falcon-nw, etc. because you'll pay way too much.

Otherwise, build it yourself.

wow, that is a pretty good deal. I noticed they have the GT cards instead of the GTX's, but I doubt they are worth the added $.
