Cambria List = Kiss Your Niche Adios

Read about the CAMBRIA LIST HERE

ARS is closing 4 sites...

"We have determined that the following sites are no longer appropriate to be in the ARS approved site portfolio: Golden Trickle, See Me Pee, Fem Domination, and Dark Obsessions. As of February 20, 2002"

Guess this this kills my BLACKS-PISSING-ON-BLONDE-DOMINATION.COM concept site. WTF!

i don't promote any of the sites... or even any of the niches...

but what's wrong with dark obsession and ebony content?

and while we're at it...what's wrong with domination?

No its not a joke but it is insane..

Its political corectness gone way to far.. once we allow this shit into our industry and LET it become mainstram then we will all be out of jobs.. think of it, no more harcore photos on tours,B.O.B. sites GONE.. interacial sites GONE.. Orgy sites GONE.. Pissing sites GONE, Bondage and Hardcore Fetish sites GONE! This is time for people to stand up and not take this shit. let the movie industry be overruled by these fucking P.C. morons... Dont lay down to this. I know ARS closed those 4 sites.. if they did this because of the this shit list.. its sad.. if they did it for Because they changed billing companies thats another thing.. if this is because of visa shit.. again acceptible.. but if we let this peice of shit list close down sites that make us money and sites that are making sale (which means surfers want them) then we will go down..

Just because a surfer wants it... doesn't mean we have to sell it. We have to draw the line somewhere.

(just to clarify... I don't see anything wrong with hardcore...or interracial... but there is stuff that I don't think should be produced or distributed. And it's not a legal question... it's a moral/ ethical one.)

Cumshots and Facials... history too...

I can see the tour disclaimer... IT'S ONLY PUDDING!

the list is...

Do not use any shots that depict any unhappiness or pain.
Do not include any of the following:
No shots with appearance of pain or degradation
No facials (bodyshots are OK if shot is not nasty)
No bukakke
No spitting or saliva mouth to mouth
No food used as sex object
No peeing unless in a natural setting, e.g., field, roadside
No coffins
No blindfolds
No wax dripping
No two dicks in/near one mouth
No shot of stretching pussy
No fisting
No squirting
No bondage-type toys or gear unless very light
No girls sharing same dildo (in mouth or pussy)
Toys are OK if shot is not nasty
No hands from 2 different people fingering same girl
No male/male penetration
No transsexuals
No bi-sex
No degrading dialogue, e.g., "Suck this cock, bitch" while slapping her face with a penis
No menstruation topics
No incest topics
No forced sex, rape themes, etc.
No black men-white women themes

Sounds like it covers the whole industry...

So this list is to give humans who dont break the law, but are not as moral as the next a new sense of Ethics? Hrm... well im sure there are alot of fuckers out there that do not like porn being published in any form so, we may all be tarred and feathered?

i think your right... we need to ofcourse keep all our sites legal but for now on we shall grade our work by how much moralality it installs on surfers.

Well you could have seen something like this happen with a brightlight like bushbush as a president
He might have done some things well now but it was obvious that he only tried to attact people by lowering taxes.

In Texas so much shit is not allowed.... like oral/anal sex and vibrators are not allowed.

It was clear that this guy wanted to do something about the porn industry

but I still think it is unbelievable

Seems to me that the list is at the same time homophobic, racist and it affects freedom of speech.

No Male/Male penetration... that's homophobia.

No black men-white women themes... Why? are there not Black/white couples out there that this becomes taboo?

Both of these are discriminating against people's freedom of speech/expression:

No transsexuals

No bi-sex

I believe that people has the right to do whatever they want in bed for as long as it's consensual.

Where are the privacy protection groups? and the freedom of speech groups? we all know that they enjoy their sex lives (or kind of)

This isn't about what peple do behind closed doors... this is about what is being produced and put in public view...

and one could argue that if you are legally allowed to do it behind closed doors ... that somebody should be ethically allowed to publish it.

And I agree that no gov't should legislate what two consenting adults do...in their bedroom.

Let's take scat for example. Sure, a person should be allowed to shit on another person in their bedroom if that's what gets them off. And no... we shouldn't have police making sure people don't do that.

But at the same time...I wouldn't put together a web site devoted to it... because I believe that the person being shit on ... is being pyschologically FUCKED by it...

I don't care if i could get paid 10$ per click...and have a 100,000 uniques flying thru the site a day... I'm not publishign it.

the list doesnt say "no black/white" it says "no black men-white women" - means to me you still can show white men-black women...

the list is by cambria, so this isnt accidently...

white, male, conservative, xxx-sites-surfing us-americans - jacking off in their office - just don't like to be reminded their wives could be fucked by big-cocked black super fuckers at that very same time

cambria was sensitive enough to know this

Interestingly enough, at least one publisher of both sites and magazines is NOT using the Cambria list for their magazines. I've seen some stuff they've sent to content providers and it's completely different.

Bottom line for anyone with a free site or any other type of site that's not age protected -- and something that should also greatly increase the marketability of joins -- tone it down.

Take the hardcore off the pages and replace it with softcore. You'll see more sales and you should sleep easier.

Does anybody specifically know why ARS dumped these sites? It was never stated on their board that it was because of The List. Someone mentioned it might be the result of the new tighter CC regulations, although I don't understand that either.

If you read the Cambria List, damn near everything is banned, I don't see why they picked those 4 sites.

scat might not bother you the way it does me.... but your comment reminded me of quote a professor repeted one time...

"you have to stand for something, or you'll fall for anything"

It's kind of a hoky quote.... but it resonates.

I wish everbody would tone down the hardcore... unfortunately it's one of those things that doesn't work that well unless everybody does it.

And since GW's hands don't reach across the ocean... it's not likely that people are going to do it.

How much ramafication does this have on the Internetside of things vs film/video, is it all encompassing.
Does it walk lightly and carry a big stick? or is it hot air?

It seems very homophobic and discriminating, so no one can be allowed to show more than one partner in a penetration series.........

"Box-Cover Guidelines/Movie Production Guidelines"

"Some in the industry say it represents guidelines for the box-covers of adult videos, not for the sex acts they depict. "

Sounds to me like this is just referring to keeping box-covers clean so some 15 yr old kid can't walk into the video store and sneak into the Adult section and see some "nasty" shit.

Of course, I would like to know why ARS closed those sites like everyone else, but I don't expect an explanation and they don't need to tell us anything either. I remember Max Cash had the cum shot site "Blowing Loads", but they closed it, and quite a while before that, they removed all pissing content from Fetish Hotel. Well ARS still has Fantastic Facials, for now at least...

This whole thing is COMPLETE BULLSHIT because adults should be able to see this material that is protected behind a pay site or an AVS, but getting rid of a lot of the free shit out there would be good, EXCEPT for the fact that all those free sites are huge traffic sources, so webmasters will continue to use them, and quite a few of the big ones require that you use hardcore content on your galleries...

Even if US webmasters are forced to clean up their freesites, there are now plenty of foreign webmasters, on foreign hosts, who can continue to use hardcore content.

I believe that if there was some kind of Global ban on hardcore, where ALL of us did not use anything but softcore on our freesites, we'd see much better conversions. Of course, I bet I'd be having a snowball fight in hell before that happens.

But it's being regulated nonetheless, in some states you can't buy a dildo (Texas) and anal/oral sex is illegal, some people argue that it's to stop child molesters (convict them) but that's pretty much bullshit, there are many ways to stop and convict them than to forbid the sexual preferences that anyone might have.

I'm not publishing it either, but that's a personal choice, I do believe there are some things that need to be banned (KP is my strongest pick) but messing with other people's rights is a different issue.

let's say that your kid sees some porn on the internet, is it the responsability of the webmaster (provided he uses blocking metas)? is it the responsability of the govt?

I believe it's the responsability of the parents of that kid to educate him/her so he/she grows as a responsible, discerning, person, and if their kids are doing something wrong and they blame it on someone else, they are just fucked up parents that don't know how to do their job well.

I would love to see the govt. descending upon KP webmasters and jailing their ass for life, and to have them actually get off our backs with their 'holier than thou' bullshit attitude.

I also would like to see all KP gone but that will not help us very much.

The people out there that are aginst porn don't see a difference between Playboy and KP.

It is all bad to them.

yup, my attorney interprets the box cover guidelines as just that...for box covers...keeping that in mind, that's also why we're going to tone down our tours and anything on the outside of paysites....

what bugs me is that some lawyer will use the Cambria list as a justification for prosecuting...so if Cambria had added "no blonde bimbos with fake tits" a lawyer would interpret that as obscene since it was on "the list".

Very true Sykkster, it could be claimed that a tour is the equivalent of a box cover. Or that advertisers free sites, tgp pages, etc could also be representative of a box cover, since that is indeed as much about advertising as covering a box...

yeah, the Miller test will apply...but, what about a webmaster who may be in Utah or Alabama where "community standards" may be different? (although I can't imagine one living in those places) Haven't followed much of it lately, but in Alabama has/had a state law outlwing the sale of vibrators...I know it was challenged, but not sure whetever came of it...

Sorry Brett, gonna have to dis you on this one. Your beliefs on this issue should very much apply to you and your business and how you present your business. But your right to decide what's morally correct stops immediately where my business begins. I believe that if movies like "interview with the vampire" and "8 MM" can exist and thrive, then I should be able to produce and display similar fantasy-only depictions as well. Others can disagree and that's their right, but when we start placing limits on what we can and can not fantasize about, that's when I'll fight to the fucking DEATH to preserve freedom of online expression.

For the record I display and promote lots of fetish and "dark fetish" sites and content, and MY limits are reached when I see anything that transcends the boundaries of fantasy and moves into the area of real violence. Sorry, there is no good arguement on this planet to convince me that people's fantasies ought to be policed by the government. If people don't like certain types of fantasy fetishy sites they are invited to avoid those sites and stick with what they DO enjoy. If horny mainstream horndogs can freely jump online and proudly display their wifey getting banged 6 ways to new Jersy, then those that have other types of fantasies should be given the same courtesy.

I've seen and promoted that site "dark obsessions", and I find nothing whatsoever wrong with it. The way censorshit is being allowed to creep into this industry makes me nervous for us all, and any adult webmaster that thinks it's a good thing must have his head buried pretty deep somewhere. Next there will be a ban on horror movies depicting any sort of pain or violence. The internet and the entertainment industry will become a giant disneysesamestreet-carebear-papasmurf-purpledinosaur playland where not even lego-sex sites are allowed.

That what everyone wants? Is that what YOU want? Think before you answer.

Nasty is licking the sweat off your grandfather's back when you fuck him in the ass.

I thought ARS was exempt from US laws because the sites are "owned" by a Canadian company.

I think that would be true if they didn't have any employees in the US (Michigan) or if their hosting was all done in Canada too. However, I think it's important to not that Canada has drawn the line on what is acceptable and basically it's content that depicts what looks like pain or degredation <sp>... It would be nice if ARS would comment on the subject for all of us!!

You can't get around the laws that easy As I am sure you know. Not that any US LAws have been broken.

That Cambria list - is just a list. It is just suggestions as to what to avoid to avoid drawing attention. There is nothing special about it - it could not be used in court against anyone.

It is odd that they made those selections. Maybe there were other reasons as well. If it is one of there less profitable sites - and raises some legal questions - maybe that plays into the picture as well.

I think it is just a case of trying to be the least noticable fry in the box when the gov't decides to go after someone. Right now - everything is ok, but who wants to be the next test case.

Personally, I would rather they pick on CyberErotica - as I think they have the best lawyers

Depictions of peeing or restraining of any type is illegal anywhere in Canada.

You can not rent videos with any sort of possibly degrading non consensual activities in Canada at all. The British fetish mag Skin Two is banned!

The law as it stands is actually less liberal in Canada than the USA.

Here's my opinion on this list... I'm no sex-crazed maniac either.

Do not use any shots that depict any unhappiness or pain.
A: This is subjective... to the casual observer, even *I* may look like I'm in pain before I bust a nut -- AUGHGHGGG!!! I'M BUSTIN' A NUT!!!

No facials (bodyshots are OK if shot is not nasty)
A: Since when is the face not part of the body?

No bukakke
A: I won't mind if this is banned -- but who wants to see a hundred naked guys standing around jerking off anyway?

No spitting or saliva mouth to mouth
A: Isn't saliva exchanged during normal kissing?

No food used as sex object
A: You can see this in R rated movies anyway...

No peeing unless in a natural setting, e.g., field, roadside
A: Who decides what is natural?

No coffins
A: What about a crucifixion? How about instead, "No sex in small containers -- lifeguard towers are ok..." Laugh...

No blindfolds
A: Huh? Now I can't even watch Batman?

No wax dripping
A: I guess this means no candles either ;) Hot-fudge must be ok.

No two dicks in/near one mouth
A: How near? What about three dicks?

No shot of stretching pussy
A: How can you have sex without stretching pussy?!!!!

No fisting
A: Except when Aria does it ;)

No squirting
A: Huh? So nobody gets to cum?

No girls sharing same dildo (in mouth or pussy)
A: Why not?

Toys are OK if shot is not nasty
A: Yes, what is nasty?

No hands from 2 different people fingering same girl
A: How about one finger and one toe? What about siamese twins?

No male/male penetration
A: No comment.

No bi-sex
A: How do you know if they're bi?

No degrading dialogue, e.g., "Suck this cock, bitch" while slapping
A: Suck this cock bitch!!!!

No menstruation topics
A: How about just, "No human blood..."

No incest topics
A: Good idea.

No forced sex, rape themes, etc.
A: Probably a good idea since this is a crime anyway.

No black men-white women themes
A: How do you define "black" or "white" anyway...? Do you have to include a model's genealogy chart? This is the most fucked item on the list...
