What the FUCK is with cops???

I got pulled over three (3) times tonite in the space of an hour !!!!

Not insane considering the way I drive. However, here's the twist. I was on my fucking bicycle and what did I get pulled over for not one, not two, but three times?

Not having a bicycle light.

I shit you not. The second time I got pulled over there were THREE cruisers! Three? I know I'm a bad motherfucker...but what's next, the SWAT team and a chopper?

The funniest part is these badge wielding tough guys were giving me shit for being a lawbreaker. but if you actually go to court instead of paying the stupid citation and show the judge an actual bike light they dismiss the ticket...or the three tickets in this case.

Viva la war on terrorism. I know I feel a lot safer knowing the man is out there protecting us from speeding bicyclists with insufficient illumination.

I do think 3 times is a bit much..

One ticket should be enough, and you should be able to show the other cops your tickets.

But maybe you should actually take note of this.. Go buy yourself a light. It's for your own protection. The cops were completely within their rights to give you a ticket. Calling you a punk.. well i don't know you, and i don't know how you act. So it might have been reasonable. but more than likely, it was just a cop power-trippin'

Think about it though. Get a light, protect yourself from drivers that might not see you, and vice versa.

I've been bicycling in an urban environment for like ten years. Believe me a light is about as useful as a mood ring.

Besides, why the fuck do we have giant streetlights every hundred feet, it's not like I was on a back road, I was on a fucking five laner.

FYI I do have a bike light, it's called the Stadium Light. It's this litte HID bulb that's bright as hell.

Last year I got pulled over for using it. The cop told me it was too bright for a bicycle. Swear to god.

I agree, I live in SoCal and drunks key in on bike lights, its like they aim for them.

I'd suggest buying a car. Bimmers are nice, but the convertibles are a bit noizy.

Fuck man !!!
A bicycle can travel places that "the man" has to get out of his car and chase you on foot !!! (narrow alleyways between buildings ... footpaths ... trails ...)

I am out of shape ... and I can still peddle my ass alot faster than a cop on foot ....

You deserve those 3 tickets, if you were stupid enough to actually stop for them ... LOL

I dunno where you live but here cops will take a shot at you if you run...I figured it was the lesser of two evils to stop for what was essentially a warning.

The guy called me a punk cos I couldn't stop laughing.

I was hassled by a cop a while ago for riding a bike on the sidewalk. And then a bit later for jayriding. (Portland is a jaywalking town, where you pretty much have to throw yourself under the wheels of an auto or bus to get a jaywalking ticket.)

I don't understand why bicycles are REQUIRED to ride in the street in downtown Portland. I bike is a hybrid of a vehicle and a pedestrian to start with, and the damage I could do to a person on foot on a sidewalk is a lot less than a car could do to me out in the street. WHAT were the legislators thinking?

Jimmy ... I never questioned the tickets ... but your style of writing was rather funny.

I was merely trying to respond with something which I thought in my wine-induced stuper, might also be regarded as funny.

Gosh ... you guys are a tough crowd tonight ...

I have a busy day tomorrow, including dinner with Platinum Dave, Platinum Sherie (lol ... it has a ring to it!!), and Shannon from Porn Mega Bucks ... so I better get to bed now ... Shannon will already be busting my balls for being up this late anyways ...

Should be a fun night ... Dave and I are gonna get the ladies wasted, and shoot some content !!!

Ok ... I lied ...
The four of us are going to secretly plot to take over control of the porn world !!

3? Wow! I would have been shaking the first one and telling them I was heading home as fast as I could!! lol

We've had bike light laws around here since the 60's and even on pretty well lit streets, a light has kept the both of us from running down a bikerider. Something to help attract the eye I guess. We also have laws pertaining to the age related to sidewalk riding... 12 and under or under 12. I don't remember now.

I guess its that bicycles ARE considered vehicles so they don't belong on the walkways. And yeah we have the dog cops here as well as bicycle cops and horseback ones. lol Not as many motorcycle ones now but if they want ya they WILL get you sooner or later.

Good call on the stopping Jimmy! You should explain to her honor that you were simply hurrying home and ended up with 2 more tickets... and perhaps that might be abit out of line.

Get two written off so any points you get might be lower!! Here when they let you off for something the points involved usually stick anyhow unless they find you not guilty.

Sounds like the time the old man got 5 parking tickets in under and hour... all stuck under the same wiper. lmao WITH a parking PASS inside the windshield under THAT wiper in plain view.
