hello, I've had a problem with my Registry for a long ass time. I fianlly want to get it straightened out.

I'd be willing to trade whatever you want if you can fix it for me.

The problem is this:
When I click on Tools, Internet Options, my hompage settings are all greyed out. I can't change my homepage, it drives me nuts.

Also, when I click on Security, the two buttons: "Custom Level" and "Default Level" are also greyed out.

Can anyone help me figure out where in which registy is the one that fixes the whole thing?

if this is set to '1' then set it to '0'

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel\AdvancedTab

you could see if there is anything funny looking in these keys, if there is a 'Restrictions' sub key it might have some restrictive values set...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Int ernet Explorer

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Inte rnet Explorer

you could also see if you have this one set to a 1 (if it is set it to 0 instead)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Win dows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings Security_HKLM_only

other than that, I dunno.

Damn. I just checked out a website that shows nude celebrities and something in their pages messed my internet explorer settings also. My default page buttons are greyed out now and so are the security ones. What a pain in the ass. It also set my default page to their website. I had to change it back to "about:blank" in the registry since I can't do it on the options tab. They also forced a download of a dialer I didn't want. People really hate shit like that.
