When I went to the USA with two friends first time two months ago, a security guy checked our passports and then started asking questions like: "How long do you know each other? From where do you know each other? Who packed your bags? Where did you pack your bags? Did you get any presents from friends or relatives to take with you? What are you going to do in the USA?" and so on..

And it pisses me off that I always forget to put my lighter into my checked baggage..

I think real terrorist just look unsuspicious and are just let in.

Germany. They started doing all that extra security stuff here after 9/11 ... But when you fly to the USA everything is even double-checked.. there is the normal security check conducted by airport personal, and then another conducted by some US security guys.. so you have to x-ray your bag twice and put off your shoes twice

Treated like a terrorist? I don't thinks so. You were treated like a law abiding citizen. Every Terrorist that has ever boarded a plane for terror has gotten on without being hassled with box cutters, and shoe bombs.

I did not want to walk through the detector barefoot because the floor is a breeding ground for bacteria. Usually I get through ... it sucks when I'm flying for work or going to Vegas and I look decent and decide to wear heels or something. I'm with you on the floor being nasty, they actually have these booty things now I think. Either way, gross. I always walk on the sides of my feet when I do have to take my shoes off.
