:mad Explain the CCBill Scrub

I recently switched over one of my websites to CCBill as a processor. Since doing it, I've noticed by couple of sign ups a day have stalled. I am not saying it's 100% CCBill. It could just be a slow week.

But it made me think of some of the discussions I remember reading on here from time to time where people would complain about the CCBill scrubbers were in ful effect, etc, etc.

Discuss.

CCbill DOES scrub hard. And that is a GOOD thing. There is a reason why they are the strongest 3rd party IPSP around, and why they have such great relationships with their banks. There are a lot of processors that are no longer around because they didn't scrub hard enough.... and when they go down, the banks that are holding the merchant accounts freeze the funds, so everybody loses.

Well I know da CCBill is a good company, and a lot of people love them. Hell, before moving some sites there last week I enjoyed by checks from sponsors over the past few years ;).

But I never had given much thought to those old CCBill scrubs until I had noticed things a bit off, or slow, this week. I'm sure that it will level it's self out in time. I just was curious for a better understanding of how it effects sites, and sales.

I am used to so many sales a day, week, and two weeks. It has been pretty consistant like that since the site (first moved so far, 2 more to go) is off on it's weekly pace. So it made me think of that.

CCBill scrubbing isn't necessarily a bad thing. I think it's one of the main reasons why I hardly see any chargebacks at my sites. Can't even remember the last one...

Good info.

I've never had a lot of chargebacks over the years. Maybe once in a blue moon. That goes for any of my sites. There are previews of what you get, so it's not a big mystery of what's going on, how to navigate, etc. Which keeps them low.

I will say that the checks that bounce are always a pisser.

I know how the CCBill scrubbing works.

Its generally constant, doesn?t fluctuate like some people on here speculate. Matter of fact, over the past 18 months, we have tested and implemented changes that leave the general risk (cb/refunds, etc) unchanged, but significantly increase the % of client throughput.

My recommendation of the first thing to look at in the reports, regarding this subject, is in transactions -> form hits, break that down by date range. You can see how many hits hit the signup form, out of those how many entered information and were able to submit it, then out of those how many submissions were accepted or declined, etc?it gives you a means to audit the process.

I have found that in many cases where people are complaining about slow sales, the form hits for those days have decreased, but the % of submissions/accepts/declines, etc are the same?.at any rate, it gives you a method to evaluate/troubleshoot what the cause of slow sales may be

T'ank ye.

As I had said previously, I am not nessearily saying anything about it being caused BY CCBill. I just had recently changed, and that thought came to mind so I thought I would ask.

I do have slow weeks, like others here, and that could very well be it. So I will take a gander at your suggestion. I do however appreciate your detailed explaination.

I've often wondered about all the CCBill scrubber talk. But since I did not have a lot to do with CCBill, other than recieving sponsor checks, most of it did not make much sense to me.
