If you had $100,000 to spend on a car

What would it be?

Something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1838383689

Or what?

Screw that, I would rather spend half of that and trick out my VW bus with a new engine, custom paint, leather interior and slammin sound system...

100K? I would replace the body panels on my camaro with carbon fiber, and have a tubular subframe made to replace the stock one.

Get a motown block, bore it to 4.125" and stroke it a bit to get it over 400 cubes. Get some heavily modded AFR heads, strong forged bottom end, titanium valves (all the good stuff), and get the bitch to revv up to 7K.

Then get a custom intercooled twin turbo setup on it. Snag some 335mm wide tires for the rear, beef up the suspention quite a bit, and the rear/tranny.

Then put the other 70K in the bank, and smile as i blew by vipers in a stock looking thirdgen camaro. ; )

I've been in a lot of luxery cars and sports cars and as far as I'm concerned they're all made for midgets.

I want a nice car - luxery or sports car - that's made for a guy that's 6'4. Every God damn one I get in is sooo uncomfortable I couldn't imagine buying it. So far the only thing I'm comfortable in is my full size GMC 4X4....

I have the same problem with boats - the fuckin seats are made for little people and my knees hit the dash on most that I try out. I had to settle for a smaller one than I wanted just cause the seats were right.

anyone know of a nice sports car or luxery car made for a real man?

As far as boats.. you can go buy my ex's 36' Carver. That way he can pay off the back child support that his first ex-wife is getting ready to sue him for... now that she suddenly found out he has some $$.

well, the new lexus SC430 is roomy. I'm a pretty big guy 6'3' and 195 lb, and both the MB CLK 430 and BMW M3 are very comfortable. i'm getting something in the next 3-4 weeks. just how big are you?

I'm 6'3 - no offense but if you're 195 and 6'3 then you're pretty much a rail. I was under 7% body fat when I was 210lbs in university. I'm rather bigger than that now though.....

I've been in a few different BMW's and never been impressed for room, my biggest complaint is how my right leg often rubs up against the center console. I'm a country hick so I dont' know what a MB CLK 40 is?

yah rhd sucks. ive only driven one rhd car...stalled the first time...lol it was a lotus super 7. wowie! 200 hp but it weighs only 1150 pounds
As I said.. after $20K in modifications and how long waiting through customs, epa, etc. Just to have a car that only 18-21 year old import car boys would drool over. Should see all the imprezas and hondas and stuff these kids drive around these days, put these mufflers on em to make em sound like they really have an engine. They stomp on the gas coming out of the school parking lot like "I'm da man". Makes me laugh. Give me an 60s/70s V-8 muscle car any day.

100k wouldn't buy a 'dream' car in finland due to taxation, but if I could afford it I'd either buy me a convertible ferrari. I doubt 100k is enough for it there either. BMW M5 is nice.

I'd get a classic that would hold its value and draw a lot of attention.

I'd get a work of art like a 1951 Mercury -- w/ flames out the exhaust... ;)

20k is to motorex not really mods. im not a big fan of skylines because they are heavy like an american car. but, they are the most advance car you can get for under 100k...hell probably under 200k. motorex has cars in stock or can get you a new one in six weeks. thats a lot sooner than you can get most high end cars.

ie. my neighbor has been waiting almost six months for a 2003 sl500

60-70s v8s are nice and loud...lots of hp/tq
the only thing is they cant make a right or left turn or brake
nothings sweeter than beating v8s and vipers with my little 69 cubic inch motor :D

tgf-
i hear you about taxes, etc... back in ireland a bmw3-series is going for $US55k. thats 20k more than what they should be if you judge by what they are going for here in the states
