The board drama has its entertaining moments, but if affiliates will not switch from sites which steal their traffic and/or which support affiliates who are thieves, it becomes pointless to be critical of such sponsors.
Seems a few are listening and taking action

He would have been and would be better off now if he would keep his mouth shut...he just makes it worse every time he says a word about it all...

Like I said before..this isnt going away..its going to haunt him for a long time to come..all the promo threads in the world arent going to help...they will backfire on him just as they are doing now..it's just another opportunity for everyone to bring up this entire mess over and over again...and they will.

Lars has surely done more harm posting - twice now - what amounts to "fuck you all", than was caused by the original threads that AFF and cams.com were linked to scumware operators.

A lot of his affiliates, for their own reasons turned a blind eye to what he has been doing. Publicly sneering at them isn't exactly the best way to ensure their continued loyalty.

So I think it's fair to say we can use adware to trigger only on AFF sites to open to their competition?

Seems like the same logic they're using to screw affiliates. Why not use their same supported technology to render their site to be ads generated for the competition?

Seems fair to me.

I know a few good russian programmers that work cheap to do the job. Any takers?

Hell personally, when a company has THOUSANDS of affiliates why are they even advertising in the first place, why are they competiting with their affiliates. I could understand if a company had a couple hundred affiliates. I know if I had a company that made millions and had thousands of affiliates I wouldn;t be buying an ads myself. Where can that company advertise that his affiliates are already not advertising? Everywhere they buy ads they are competiting with their affiliates. It's not like they dont make a ton of off all the branding that affiliates are doing for them or all the type in traffic they get. I am not just talking about AFF either, all big companies. It would piss me off if i go to buy ad words and the COMPANY has the spot above me,
i bet you they buy ads on google adwords as well as other sites and while it may seem like the traffic is going to an affiliate, who says that they didn't create an affiliate account that feeds the internal treasury just to cover the fact they are sending traffic to them selfs.
it is what it is and nothing we can really do about it except if you don't like it don't send traffic to them and find someone else as a sponsor for your dating sites traffic.
otherwise, if you sending aff your traffic cause they are making you more money then other dating sites shut up, eat, drink, fuck and be merry.

I am sure some affiliate companies use their own aff codes for ads, if nothing else so they can track how well the ad does. It is also good for deniability if someone catches them doing something shaddy they can always blame it on the affiliate.

If I had to make a little less and go with someone who wasn't shaddy I would. Supporting spyware is going to ruin the whole industry and hurt us all including themselves. How can anyone support them ?

Not true. Precisely because a dollar is worth exactly a dollar, it costs you exactly nothing to care how you come by one.

The damage starts within the company which does not maintain a high standard of business practises. Its employees see the example set by the company and follow its lead. It would not be human nature to do otherwise. In this particular context you can extend that to the company's affiliates. Somewhere down the line that translates into additional costs via theft, fraud and the like.

Some of those affiliates are themselves sponsors. For example, I noticed a couple of days ago that a Silver Cash exit console goes to AFF. That sends out a negative message to their employees and affiliates.

In fact, the major issue with AFF, cams.com, SexSearch and other large operations which work with and/or tolerate scumware, file-swapping sites and so on, is the message they are sending to the whole industry. Even those who profit from Zango must recognize they have crossed the line of legitimate competition and basically their activities are telling everyone that is okay.

Which is about as short-sighted as it is possible to get, because while you may be holding a gun on someone today, only a fool tells himself the day will never come that the gun is pointed at him. The reality that instability ultimately damages everyone, is why every industry quickly moves out of the "wild west" phase.

That transition is already under way. If AFF and the others involved with Zango don't want to end up as footnotes in this industry's history, they will have to bow to that inevitability within the next few years. When they try to accomplish that about-face, then they will count the real cost of their current activities.

I believe the webmasters that still promote them will be whining about their funds being locked up before AFF decides not to screw the webmasters that helped them become who they are.

Look at all the idiots in their contest threads?

As long as there's newbie idiots, I don't think they give a fuck & would continue using spyware/adware traffic hijacking sales stealing methods.

It seems like more than half the post in their threads are from AFF employees.

It really doesn't make sense. The contest threads cater to the people who likely don't make any sales. Think about it. If you waste your time trying to win $50, A. You musn't make a lot of money if you are worried about $50, B. If you wasting time doing that I doubt you are spending much developing you r business.

Sure they might get 100 people to signup from a contest thread but I bet 99 of them never send 1 signup and the 1 person that does will likely never produce more in sales than what they paid for in prizes for that contest.

Doesn't make sense.

It is funny when the AFF employees win, they post so much they win their own contests.

Andrew must have layed the hammer down and told the whole crew, you do not reply to any spyware, stolen content, password sites, etc... post in contest threads and that is it. And it looks like he took Lars' keywboard away.

Contest threads are not a good judge of anything. They are basically just a cheap way to buy a sticky for the month.

here is a bump for "looking into it" as affiliates get robbed.

True... but even their contest falls off the front page.

Now this thread on the other hand, we should keep this as a sticky for the rest of the year.

Whether they ever do the right thing or not, I don't see how they can ever be trusted.

I know Xandria and Somethingsexyplanet steal traffic with this specific software now. Who did you use to work for?
