I HATE minimum payouts!!!

I no longer join any programs with $100 minimum payment. Thing is you have to try them out to see how they convert before you either drop them or promote them more. Not everything we try is a good fit and not every sponsor is a good converter. So you end up with one or two sales and then sit and sit and sit until you finally pull the plug and kiss that money goodbye. One program isn't a big deal, but you add them up and it can make quite a difference. All these little commissions combined would pay for all my Christmas shopping!

And that's all I'll say.

Missie

I can understand minium payouts of $50, but come the end of the year I think they should just payout everything even if its below the minium.

Minimums do not suck, high minimums do. I know and understand the reasoning behind them.

So a slight suggestion to sponsors that do their own payouts (typically these are those who have higher minimums).
  • Keep your regular minimum payout in place for normal payments.
  • Have an option for new affiliates to get an immediate payout during normal payday for their first signup('s). One time only.
  • At the end of quarter or year, flush out all amounts owed that are below minimums.

Minimum payouts are a necessary buffer to alert sponsors to certain types of fraud.

They are also helpful in addressing certain accounting issues that rise up from time to time.

I'm not even gonna go into the whole "earth friendly" tip. :-)

There's also the fact that some programs (well, ok... at least HoDough) have variable minimum payours... it doesn't have to be $100 (which is standard default) you can go as low as $50... you can also set it higher if you wish.

I do agree that, if you're leaving a program, however, and they don't cut you a check for monies owed, that's complete and utter bullshit.

We've had a couple affiliates in my time (for whatever reason) leave our program, and upon contacting us in that regard and their account being terminated, whatever money they're owed is sent to them... minimum payout met or not. That's just good business.

Minimum Payouts just make sense in doing honest business, from my personal perspective... which is why we're all here in the first place.

I agree, I waited nearly 6 months to get a pay out through one sponsor.Site didnt convert well and they only had one. So it took a while to recieve that check.

Just request a check and close the account. If you explain the reason you haven't hit the min. most sponsors will cut you the check.

I hear you, Missie. Bigcashcrew have a minimum payout of $100, which I didn't see as a problem when I signed up because I know my webcam traffic converts well. After generating over 400 free account signups I was only up to 3 paid sales ($75) and then one of them was refunded, bringing me back down to $50. I wasn't going to waste more traffic - which would have netted me $500+ with the other webcam sponsor - just to make another $50, so I asked nicely for an extraordinary payout.

4 1/2 months later - today - BCC finally paid.

Just for fun I played with some stats from the other webcam sponsor I usually send my traffic to.

For registrations in August 2006 (one month) including paid sessions since, the total is $677.18. The actual payout was 50% higher because I moved up a tier, so I made $1015.77 cash from registrations in that one month alone... and it will keep going up as people are still paying for sessions.

I sent just over 1,000 hits to webcam sponsor "X" to earn that. I've sent 5 times more clicks to bigcashcrew and all I earned was $50.

I'm an idiot for persisting with BCC for that long. Even more so for believing they'd send my $50 pronto.

If those earnings are typical then I could have earned over $5k from the hits I sent to BCC by sending them to my normal sponsor... instead I got $50

I need my head read

Time to review some sponsors I think

It's theft, IMHO.

I could see a minimum if maybe it was set to $20.00 or something, but those $100.00 minimums are simply there to help them recoop their bloated PPS payouts.

not as bad as having to pay to get paid..getting tired of seeing programs where no matter what payment option you are paying a fee to get your money. Just work it into the payout or something but it feels a bit crap to pay to get the money..especially on rev share programs where I am not taking a huge big payment per sale from you but just getting my share

We have a $100 min on both programs but mainly because we gave away $66.6 in satancash when you opened an account (and stated the min payout in advance) and $50 in Mobbucks when we launched. in the opening 3 days of SatanCash we credited over $18k to Affiliates in free money. the only catch was that you give us a try. you make 2-3 sales and you get the bonus. If you only make 1 sale and want to stop traffic you would have to hit one of us up to get the account closed and paid out. we would payout anything over the bonus. I know it's a pain in the ass but it's the only way we can give the credit to the Aff's that take the time to try us. I'd like to set it to $50 at some point but have to find a way in Nats to separate the accounts that still have the bonus in them. I'll have Pete look into it. the minimum also helps you detect fraud by giving you a few more sales and time to catch it.

It seems the $100 minimum seems to be pretty standard. I promote a shitload of sponsors, and hence I have a shitload of sponsors I have never met the minimum with yet. I do think that they should pay out once per year or something, but that just isn't going to happen.

Minimum payouts are usually pretty clearly posted. We have minimum payouts, they are absolutely necessary for reasons I won't discuss.

If a sponsee however tried us, it didnt work out and they wanted to close their account then we would likely on a case by case basis (are you from russia and sent one hotmail signup on 4 clicks?) pay out and close the account.

Wouldn't this increase the potential for fraud? As an affiliate I don't mind waiting a little longer to get an extraordinary payout, but I sure don't like the prospect of having to waste more traffic just to make the minimum......

(Note to Big Cash Crew - 4 1/2 months is not a "little" longer. )

My biggest peeve is the single girl sites that don't just stick with CCBill. I probably have 10 different accounts with various single girl "programs" that have $30 sitting in them. I have a teen site I add all of these girls too and the sales just aren't consistent enough to hit the minimum of every girl I put up.

The only program I've had do this is Triple X Cash. I haven't done all of the math, but they seem to charge a pretty decent chunk if I recall correctly. Pretty lame if you ask me. Of course I won't pretend to know what it costs to issue checks, but as an affiliate that really shouldn't be my problem.

Missie,

Try TrafficCashGold and LoveDollars, both have always had minimum payouts of $5.00! That makes it really easy for you to test either program. We know that not everyone has lots of traffic and no one wants to wait a month to reach a minimum payout of $100.00 And once you try us, you won't be disappointed.

Min payouts should never be more that $50. In fact, lets start a revolution. If this board got together and said we will drop any sponsor that doesnt obey rules we decide, they would have to pander to us. Not just payouts, all sorts. Anything that hurts us would go. Think about it.

Whats that thing with aff that nicks our sales? Cant remember but this is a great way to fight it!
