Unless the other guy has a thick jacket or doesn't stun easily. Don't carry anything that looks like a gun unless is shoots like one. There is nothing worse than bluffing with a crook. You'll just make him angry. Just go for the pepper spray. It'll do you fine.

I don't mean to be harsh with you but i think you need to take off the panties and grow some balls. you need some self defense classes and get some confidence.
