Looks like to me he joined before death, died due to excercising his penis so much (j/k) & as a result, because he was dead, he could not cancel his subscription.

Sure, her husband dies and all that comes into HER mind is joining a PENIS enlargement site. Maybe the beloved ones of some people aren't really loved that much, but as long as his wife isn't a hermaphrodite, I doubt she has any interest in Forte's site.

Uhm, that is wrong. Did the *wife* explain in her email why her husbands credit card was not cancelled? Legally, credit cards must be informed of the death of a card holder.

When my mother passed away, we had to legally notify every credit card company of her passing so that her cards could be cancelled and final balances paid off.

One month...ok, caught in red tape..but CCBill being able to process 13 months worth the charges on that credit card means that the card has not been cancelled. If CCBill is going to issue a refund of 13 months...then they should also inform the credit card company that they have been provided proof that the card holder passed away 13 months ago and have that card cancelled.

ya, but over a year later?? Why so long? Wouldn't she have noticed the charges on the credit card bill way before that? It's sad that her husband died, but also sad that she never noticed the charges and/or had the card canceled upon his death.

You think everyone watches every charge on their card? Why do you think auto-recurring was implemented in the first place?

You have been around long enough to know better.

And WTF would she cancel his card? You think she never charges shit on it?

I'm pretty sure the debt is only paid off if they were paying an insurance premium on their balance. I specifically declined the insurance on some of my lower balance cards because I know I have enough cash to pay them off if I croak so there is no reason to piss money away on insurance I don't really need. Same goes for anything else like mortgage, etc. If they die and don't have mortgage insurance then the house has to be sold.

what is truly funny is that they let the credit cards run for 13 months after the guy died. Wouldn't that be something that would be done fairly early in the settling of an estate, to close down and pay off any outstanding debts?

I smell a rat here.
