DH, Wizzo, WiredGuy, Lars, Juicy, etc..

No drama. Just a thread to understand the reasoning behind it.

Why do they post at all to defend the spyware/adware, torrent sites, etc..? Do any of them own spyware or torrent sites? What motivation is there to encourage more people to use these methods for promotion? Wouldn't it just dilute their own campaigns? Why bother? The aggressive defense of these practices is what keeps people replying and flooding the forum with so many threads about it.

I haven't defended bit torrents or spyware. Adware, yes, because its legal and has a lot of misconception about it. I don't see anything wrong with software being distributed freely which is supported by advertising. Lots of people put adware and spyware in the same category and it simply isn't true.

you also have to realize there are two types of adware...that which was installed by an exe that someone intentionally clicked on to install that ad supported software, and that which installed without permission that pops ads on a users screen

both are adware, but one is perfectly fine, while the other is malicious

so where does it begin and end. arent torrents practically an extension of tgp. i mean a tgp site has thousands of pics and videos for free, its just sponsor approved. i remember back when programs were picky about tgp and now 9 out of 10 will give you every bit of content they have to use for it.

Sure a TGP has a lot of pics and movies, but those are samples.

They're still pretty much giving away the cow while trying to sell the milk.

Regardless, the main difference here is the stamp of approval given to TGP's, to which sponsor cater by offering free content in various forms, while torrent sites blatantly rip entire sites without anyone's approval.

not much difference, tgp opened up because people pushed it and did it like this. because big tgps threw up tons and tons of content and got sales. bottom line is and has always been money. tgp didnt always have such massive approval, much less have so many programs that will give you virtually their entire collection of content to use for it however you choose. im just saying its not a huge jump and you're all not so clean.

TGP is a different situation, they have direct control over the content on their sites (even if they choose not to exercise it). There's accountability there. Torrent sites don't really have this kind of control.. they can block searches, etc, but they aren't directly in control of the content that's offered on their sites. Not even the same kind of business model.

Tgp's started out as illegally linking to content, sorta like what torrents do now.

Maybe you weren't around, or didn't make avs sites... I lost over $4000 due to Thehun and Al4a.

ANd you took some sort of action and you knew how to stop getting ripped off by TGPs.
How do you stop a bunch of surfers from sharing complete site rips?

$4000 later I was told to put up a .htacess, to stop it, but that only stopped a few of the sites not all.

Sponsors can find a way to work with Torrent Sites too. Shouldn't you expect them to do the same? You are telling me I was supposed to be able to stop them from fucking me. It wasn't like Thehun emailed you and said, hey I wanted to link your shit, but if you want to stop it, add a htaccess.

I don´t know man, maybe I´m not that smart but I fail to see how a sponsor can compete against people that are uploading complete site rips...
Sure maybe you can flood the P2P networks with teaser videos and stuff. But then the surfer just does a search, orders the results by size and boom...you´ve got a 1.2GB site rip ready to download.
I highly doubt he´s gonna pull out his credit card...

Juicy, your above post also proves you are the brains and comic relief behind the operation.

We all know you are great looking, but you don't need to be so modest about your other talents.

thank you, thats exactly what im saying. these people just cant make the connection.

tgp wasnt always looked in such a friendly way as i said and now a sponsor will practically give you all of the content they have, full videos, entire photo sets and let you tgp the shit out of it. but they're crying about this, its the same thing over again. they only bitch when they're not in it and making money from it, but they'll exploit this and a few years from now it will be accepted and all these cry babies will be bitching about something else.

youre all greedy and dirty whether you like it or not on some level

People need to either join with the torrent sites in some way or come up with a product worth purchasing.

The difference is, TGP aren't used to pirate software and they don't engorge theft or offer up full length porn DVD or site rips. Torrents are not just another way to market, they are part of the downward spiral of this industry.

Sponsors can find a way to work with Torrent Sites too. Shouldn't you expect them to do the same? You are telling me I was supposed to be able to stop them from fucking me. It wasn't like Thehun emailed you and said, hey I wanted to link your shit, but if you want to stop it, add a htaccess.
you could have hit em back with reverse DDOs attack

its only downhill if youre not making money on it. if all these people knew how to make money off it they would be doing it. but they'd rather cry and claim to have biz ethics and they're mostly all full of shit and will cave just the way they have with tgp, mgp and everything else prior.

Yeah tgps have free pics and movies, but torrent sites have free full length movies. I never saw a TGP with full length movies, it would be pointless, they woudln't be able to send any joins if they did. Tgps / Mgps just give out samples.

Their is a big difference

Which TGP or MGP will be the first to offer complete site rips and full length dvd quality movies?

guess people dont remember when tgp was a bad thing and things progressed, and we had sponsors give out a small amount of content for tgp pics, then they gave out all their pics to use for tgp, then video clips, 10 seconds, 20 seconds, then 30, then 2 minutes and so on, now a few sponsors have tools to put 10 to 20 minute videos on your site for free. if you cant see the progression and all the whining and crying is about being left out of the money then you've missed it all along.

Maybe you weren't around, or didn't make avs sites... I lost over $4000 due to Thehun and Al4a.
There's a BIG fucking difference to deeplinking a fucking gallery or sharing a whole members-area. While the argument "they should have had better protection" holds true in both cases, there's pretty much nothing a guy can do to torrent links, they're up there and out of your control. When you got an AVS gallery deeplinke, you could just rename that folder and redirect to your 'sales page'.

Also, I do understand most of you are in the states. But deeplinking to a non-protected directory is not illegal. But it IS illegal to download or seed torrents with unlicensed material in finland, and finnish trackers have been raided and shut down. Sweden apparently has different laws, and so do the states (I assume?)

Also, TGP's are a business. TGP owners share 'enough' content to keep visitors happy but still make money. Torrent USERS are people who just want to share content, for free, without any financial gain. They just want as much for 100% free as they can...that is if we take piratebay etc trackers and rapidshare and the like out of the equation who are making a buck out of it. The USERS of these services, the 'surfers' who do the actual surfing aren't intrested whether anyone makes money or not.

TGP owners do care. (or atleast should care)
