You also did this is another post. Using Overture stats to promote your site name.

I don't get it what you are trying to say?

There can be 2,860,596 searches without one reaching your page. What's your point exactly? I can register 1000 names with those words in it. And then? They will still be worth the reg price.

It helps to have your keywords in your domain and it's a blog so it's the best possible name in regards to that.

Im not saying the name for a blog isnt good. If someone needs a blog with that niche its perfect. Just the oversture stats you post with your domain sales are stupid in this case.

I can see it working better if you sell a domain like hotbabes.com and then mention the overture stats as it might get type ins. But hotbabeswebsite.com is a different story.

You dont understand what im saying do you?

Yes, for a blog that domain is nice because its a blog. Doh. But overture stats, what do they mean for that site? 2 million searches and then? Not one going to your site. Whats the point?

I'm just stating that a lot of people search for sexy woman. If you have that blog and start getting links to it with sexy woman used as the anchor text you will climb in the rankings eventually.

If it were easy for keyworded domains to tap into search volume on the keywords, the OP would be developing the domain instead of selling it. So, obviously, he doesn't know how to to do it -- or he does know, and is dismayed because he knows it takes years of steady work.

<keyword>blog.com domains are great for blogging at over the long term, because people search for "<keyword> blog" and you *do* rise right to the top for those searches if your blog is anything more than the typical spam-o-rama. (See sig if you need some of these.) But start adding keywords and D. Franck is correct -- you lose most of the advantages because searches in the form of "<keyword> <keyword> blog" are relatively rare. Trust me, I know.

BCyber, I think you know what you are doing when you quote the Overture Search Volume -- you're marketing to blog newbies who don't know how long a road it is to turn your semi-decent blog domain into high volumes of search traffic. You're not *wrong* when you write "you could have a very high traffic site" -- but you're engaging in the same sort of aggressively misleading copyrighting that the affiliate programs used to use when they would write up those amazing pyramids about "and if you make just so many sales a day, with recurring sales you'll be making a million dollars a month in just seven months!"

It was not a lie, but it wasn't going to happen, either. Which is pretty much the case with <keyword><keyword>blog.com, unless of course the new owner spends a couple of years writing high quality daily blog posts. In which case, the benefits would redound to almost any domain, but yours would be better if it accurately describes the blog niche.

Fall for what? It's a blog ready to go running on wordpress with a plugin that auto posts rss feeds of your choice. It happens to be on a half way decent domain. I'm selling it as a package, I'm not trying to say this is some bad ass domain I'm selling.

And, I know what you guys are saying but why are you going on and on about it? Go tell someone else what you think you know.

No, but he is marketing very aggressively to folks who don't know enough to catch the disingenuous "could" in his pitch.

We're just making sure that, by the time those folks who don't know better are done reading this thread, they do know better.

Oh, and thanks, JetJet.

Why don't you guys let everyone know the fair market price of blog installation/setup, some design, mods, plugins, and a domain name!

Most people charge around $50 for wordpress installs highly overpriced imo, chuck in the basic design $20 I don't think this is overpriced.

At $50 it is good buying.
