I don't think the Iran strategy would be the same as the Iraq strategy. That is, a massive ground invasion would not be part of the plan. Months and months of strategic bombing and guided missles, perhaps tactical nukes - Think of it more as a seige. Iran would be on their knees and no soldier would ever step foot on their soil (save some special forces for target acquisition, etc.. but they wouldn't even know they were there).

I don't support a war in Iran and Im not american, so I have no vested political interest. I do however enjoy speculating about military conflicts.

Except there's no way in hell you can come close to winning a war with air strikes only. Well, unless you turn the country into a sheet of glass of course.

It's like back in the 1600s saying you could win a war with nothing more than catapults and archers. Just ain't going to happen. You have to send the ground troops in sooner or later, and Iraq basically just laid down for the US, but don't expect Iran to do the same. ;)

Plus many countries (Australia too I hope since our puppet PM is gonna be voted out soon) wouldn't go in with you or support you ... and I imagine you would be on your own with Israel. It will be a bloodbath. An Iranian bloodbath to begin with then once they all start getting desperate and resorting to strapping bombs to themselves Americans will experience their own bloodbath .......... again.

I would rather see that entire region turned into new lakefront property. Nuke it clean and start over. The US can't win this anti Muslim war (comeon lets call it for what it is) without flexing some real muscle. They wipe a region off the map .... watch many Muslim countries fall into line due to fear.

I supported the war when I was under the impression that Iraq possessed WMD's. When it was proven that the American people were sold a false bill of goods I tried to be optimistic and rationalize it, thinking that at least the Iraqi people were freed from an oppressive dictator that tortured them. When I realized how ungrateful the Iraqi citizens were, I came to the conslusion that the whole war was a fucking huge waste and we should have let Saddam continue to rule with an iron fist. It is apparent that is the only way Iraq will have any stability, as those savages obviously only respond to an oppressive dictator.

Once again, it is readily apparent to me why half of GFY has you on ignore...
