First was Alice Cooper - Muscle Of Love, second was Kiss - Alive - I was 11

Was a very short time after that I discovered Columbia House Tape Club, filled it out and got a ton of stuff for a penny (you still had to tape the penny to the postcard).

They backed down on the bills they kept sending to an 11 year old, figured they could not collect.

Linds, great thread man. This is one of my favourite questions to ask people lol. I grew up in the cassette era and can't remember that far back, but the first cd I ever bought was Queen Bohemian Rhapsody, a classic

KISS, "Sure Know Something".

Wow, that's strange that Kiss "Sure Know Something" was your first because Kiss "Dynasty" was my first ever LP.

My first ever cd was Mass "Voices In The Night", they're a hard rock band produced by Michael Sweet (Stryper).

The first tape I ever bought was Guns n Roses Appetite for Destruction (should be an emoticon for a rock fist, would fit perfect here.)

The first CD I bought was Green Day Dookie (Again, rock fist)

Mine was a 45 vinyl and the artist was "Chubby Checker" The Twist. I got that record about a week after it came out.
I guess my parents loved to see me do the twist during those days.
And shortly after I got "Elvis Presley" Hound Dog.
