It looks like Rob and his Lambo video made it to the local headline news here in Phoenix. The DPS is investigating the incident that took place on the Red Mountain Freeway. I am sure this is not over for him.
This is worthy of a thread itself.

It's amazing that they would give someone as retarded as this Rob punk a license to drive with an iq as low as his. Furthermore it's scary as hell that there are people out on the roads putting other innocent peoples lives in jeopardy just so they can amuse themselves. They make tracks for people to do this shit, not the open Public roadways.

I agree with the safety issue. I would call Rob a punk, but rather he could have used better Judgment and set this 219 record on a track designed for such speed.

I was thinking this myself. I found it hard to believe that the DPS follows Youtube.

An in car speedo is inaccurate, as there are so many things that could cause discrepancies. ie tyre wear, tyre inflation, standard or non standard wheels/tyres used etc... Not sure about the states, but here the police tend to deduct a percentage from the speed you were 'caught' for to take into consideration erroneous speedo readings...

Well, many people have seen this and his other vids long before they were posted on GFY.

What is your evidence that it had to be someone on GFY?

there are an endless number of backstabbers and snitches on GFY - look at the Real Sinatra thread and how many people contacted that lawyer to get him in shit.

i'll gladly stab somebody in the back if they have had the stupidity to mess with me first but i'd never snitch on anybody i have no reason to snitch on unless they're fucking up a friend or family.

That is a beautiful car. But that is not something I would ever do. Yes, you see formula one cars and nascar going that fast, but those are on highly groomed tracks. A wing nut falls onto the track and its yellow flag time.

I guess my young children have made me more cautious in my old age. At that speed, there is no possible way you would see debris on the road and even if you did, there is no way you would have time to react.

It is a beautiful car, and Allison and Lia standing in front of it makes it even more beautiful, but I guess I am just a pussy, not something I would ever attempt.

Speeding tickets from radar are the easiest to beat.

I wonder how you fight a radar gun when you are well over the 10mph they usually give as a cushion? Wouldn't calibration issues go out the window at that point?

I have done it twice. Both times it worked. An old friend who is an LAPD motorcycle cop taught me this.

You have a right to mount a defense, even for something as simple as a speeding ticket.

You get the court to assist you (they are required by law to do so) in getting a subpoena for the manufacturer of the radar gun. In the subpoena, you ask for the specifications of the particular radar gun used. The company will refuse, trade secrets. Case dismissed.

You can also beat a ticket for running a red light if its not with a camera, if it is just the copy eye balling.

1. The cop must appear, if he/she doesn't, case dismissed.

2. If the cop appears, you have the right to question him or her.

Question: Where were you looking at the exact moment the light turned red?

Answer: The light. Follow up: Then how do you know where my car was?
Answer: Your car. Follow up: Then how do you know the light turned red.

This one works on close calls. By law, if the first fractional inch of your front bumper is touching the first fractional inch of the limit line (that half line in front of crosswalks) when the light turns red, you are legally "in" the intersection and are allowed to continue.

Of course, speeding and running red lights are always bad ideas.

People seem to forget the reason they can sieze the vehicle is that they can remove the computer, and get a readout of all the actions performed by the vehicle. They do that kind of thing for a slam-dunk.

All great points, which I am sure the courts have heard many times and have undoubtedly found ways around to get the charges to stick more often than not.

They didn't see it on this site, I think that's pretty obvious. The "autoblog.com" and the digg article is likely where it came from. Or maybe they picked it up from his 205mph.com who knows this likely isn't the only place he posted it.

Someone from here likely posted the link to the vid on some car forum somewhere then it likely ended up on the autoblog with is pretty big site in it's self. From there the rest is history.

It's either that or it was posted directlly to the autoblog but from reading his post, it didn't look like he had any inside info. So I'd suspect itr was posted via other niche forums after here then to the blog and so on.

Spacedog you have been online long enough to know how fast this shit spreads like a plague across the net. Then of course there is the waiter thread from a week or so back, so who really knows.

Radar guns are well known to be inaccurate. Hell I think it was Ferrari whom protested them during a F-1 race because they had a pit lane speed violation. I think Ferrari won too.

My mom actually worked at "Radiation" (which is now called Harris Semiconductor) back in the early 80's when they developed the radar gun. So she worked on it as it was being produced.

Even back then they knew they were not accurate but it was one of those deals that it was needed so it was used anyway. This was pre laser radar detectors anyway. I would imagine the newer laser detectors are much more accurate.

Does not quite work like that unfortunately, but i am too busy to write out how the process actually works, just take my word for it!!

Even if everything you do in porn is on the up and up, you still don't make a spectacle of yourself. Look where it got the dude from GGW. Doing stupid ass shit like this can be what brings a closer look into his adult business. Once you become a target they will get you sooner or later.

Reminds me of something a hippy dope grower once told me -
"Stay high, keep low."

Maybe not anymore. However, I have personally done it twice and it worked. This is not a friend, or my cousins sister, this is ME.

The first time, the cop was behind a chain link fence, so I wanted to see how, if at all, the metal on the chain link effected the radar gun. So I wrote to the company that manufactured the radar gun, they sent me a letter refusing to respond. They were issued a subpoena and their lawyer refused to comply and filed a motion to quash the subpoena based on trade secrets. The subpoena was quashed and the court dismissed the ticket.

The second time, same exact thing, different manufacturer, but same exact thing.

come on guys, there is more to the story then all of this, should he have done it? well probably not and I am sure he learned a lot from seeing what everyone had to say about it. Give him a chance to reply, give you his side of the story. He could have had a few cars on the road just to make it look more believable, who knows. Stop digging the hole deeper

This one works on close calls. By law, if the first fractional inch of your front bumper is touching the first fractional inch of the limit line (that half line in front of crosswalks) when the light turns red, you are legally "in" the intersection and are allowed to continue.
That's not true at all, once the light is yellow it's illegal to enter an intersection. People can get charged with running lights whether they're yellow or red.

Wrong. Again, I have DONE this, personally.

This was in California.

Here is the law, DIRECTLY from the California DMV Driver Handbook. I am copying and pasting:

Solid Yellow- A yellow signal light means "CAUTION." The red signal is about to appear. When you see the yellow light, stop if you can do so safely. If you can?t stop safely, enter the intersection cautiously.

They hold events where you can legally drive as fast as you want on public roads such as The Texas Mile

I didn't watch the video but unless GPS is involved its pretty silly to claim the speed.
