How do you spend your money?

I have always wondered this about people. I am making more money now than I have ever made in my life and I am no different now than I ever was. I rarely, RARELY ever spend money on myself unless it pertains to my business in some way or another.. like a new pc or accessories for it or something like that. As far as just going shopping...... I ain't into that at ALL!! Someone gives me money and tells me I HAVE to spend it on myself, I am fucked because I can't do it.

All of mine goes on my family, friends, household things and so on............. what are YOUR spending habits? Just out of curiosity. ;)

Mostly on my boys and my home. If I ever buy anything for me, it's jewelry or artwork.

liquid savings is my #1 priority. after that - travel, sports cars and education. i also spend a lot of money on books, music and snowboarding - but comparatively it's not very much.

Right now I'm saving for a car and an apartment. After that, I will be like quiet and do liquid savings

After 6 months or so of putting money in liquid savings, I'll start doing some mild investing.

Yeah, travel rules. Been to over 20 countries. But I always backpack and stay in hostels. The chicks are really easy and you end up partying hard every night. And its cheap!

Besides that i spend money on weed, alcohol, food and the occasional computer thingy.

This is so cool....... I love knowing what people do and how they go about their lives........

I lied a little I guess..... I forgot.... DUH!!! I did buy me a new.. well newER car a year ago. Bought me a 94 Cougar, nicest car I have ever had........ and I LOVE it.

I'd like to travel someday, but I have kids that are so young and I'd have to take them with me...... traveling with 4 kids? No, I haven't lost ALL of my mind yet........ LOL

I would have to say that about 50% of mine goes on my kids though....... spoiling them beyond all reality.

When I can't find any musical instument cases to buy I will sometimes pay big bucks for Star Trek trading cards.

What do you guys like to spend your money on?

Luckily after 2 years I'm almost done with it. Sure I could of given it to him all at once, but why the hell would I want to do that. Main thing left twisting right now is the loan for the boat. He supposedly has a buyer for it now (after it being on the market for the most of this year). He got the boat in the divorce.. I got the loan.. so with the boat sold, the loan goes away but the liability doesn't. I just owe him..not the bank.

The problem is.. normal people would be paying it out over the life of the loan just the same.. so that's like another 11 years. Who wants to do that if they don't have to. I want a lump sum payment arranged to finish it all over and be done with him completely so he can drop of the face of the earth. He of course wants the full amount, but attorney says I should get a fair-sized discount for payment in advance.

Long story.. but I'm not putting my name to paper to sign off on the sale until the money issue is all settled.

Word to the wise... either don't get married or set up housekeeping with someone in a state that recognizes common law marriage.. or GET A PRENUP!

PersianKitty........ damn babe, sounds like you got the wrong end of that stick, that's fucked up.......... but I am so happy to hear you aren't taking it laying down. Alot of people would, but I am proud of you....... screw that laying down and taking shit.

I guess I am lucky, my hubby and I have been together most of our lives and we both know that we are always going to be together...... but if by some fucked up twist of fate we weren't....... I know neither of us would screw theo ther one.

But I totally agree with you........ not all couples are like that and some just wanna eat you alive when there is a breakup........ I never got that mentality to be honest with you.......... it just seems senseless.... you take what's yours and I'll take what's mine and we sell the rest........... sounds fair to me. But I live in a bubble when it comes to that.

Bravo to you for standing your ground. ;)

i did. and he's all black and gorgeous and he's never leaving my site. i miss the other one. he was so sweet and he was obsessed with pennies.

i hope somebody stole him cause he was cute but when i went looking around for him, the bad people gave me this nasty/shifty look and said "our dog doesn't like cats".

anyways, glad to hear all is well.

and even if I have already bought some musical instument cases or Star Trek trading cards or Duran Duran memorabilia or old cool foreign posters I still like to buy videotapes that were rented by people at Blockbuster then sold on Ebay and return them to Blockbuster to help do my part to make this Earth a better place.

and I would gladly sell all my musical instument cases and Star Trek trading cards and Duran Duran memorabilia and old cool foreign posters and I would stop buying those non-returned videotapes from Blockbuster if I could just get my hand on a non-signed 8X10 photo of Silver Screen legend and Lone Ranger actor Clayton Moore. I can find tons of them signed but non that are untouched by that film legends pen. HI-HO-Silver, AWAAAAAAAYYYYYY!

Somebody please help me!

To tell you the truth I would gladly sell all my musical instument cases and Star Trek trading cards and Duran Duran memorabilia and old cool foreign posters and I would stop buying those non-returned videotapes from Blockbuster and I would even pass up a non-signed 8X10 photo of Silver Screen legend and Lone Ranger actor Clayton Moore if I could only donate a can of Crayola Crayons to each and every child on the face of the planet.

PK - That picture is signed!!! See what I mean? They taunt me by selling nothing but signed pictures of Clayton Moore AKA The Lone Ranger! No unsigned pictures in sight! ARRGGHHH!
I could settle for any unsigned Clayton Moore photo but unfortunately it has to be this one:

It's agony I tell ya!!!
