from what I read a long time ago in some fitness book is, if the cold is only above the neck then yes it's ok to exercise, otherwise no.

My best friend is a personal trainer.. she says as long as you don't have an upper respiratory infection it is ok to workout. But I ever feel like working out when I'm sick.

Stay home and rest. Your body needs to fight it off. Don't go to a public gym and get everyone else sick by spreading germs around especially!

I find it helps to recover from a cold, when you feel your energy levels starting to return. But I've hit the gym at the beginning of a cold before and it just made it worse, since I got more dehydrated and exposed myself to all sorts of germs from touching the equipment, etc, and overexerting myself.

seems like a split decision so far.
It is just a head cold, but a nasty one. I workout at home, so no spreading the cold. I think I'll hit the bike for an hour and see what happens. This is day 3 and I feel a lot better that the last few days but still plugged up and sluggish - which I hate ![]() |
