i voted obama btw.

mccain showed he is an angry, arrogant, out of control renegade, not a maverick.

obama let him walk right into his trap.

It was slightly for Obama, though still a major win for him as McCain really needed a noticeable win for it to help any. McCain did not deliver that and really only held his own and said anything good during the international portion towards the end.

Obama did of cousre. He's such an exceptional orator. He connects with the average American worker. He crushed McCain on the economy and healthcare issues.

He also expressed a better understanding on how to solve some of the foriegn policy issues (through diplomacy) that we face around the world.

mccain seemed to spend more time angry and lashing out at obama than he did on orating his plans that he kept babbling about.

I think McCain has listened to Palin's interviews too many times. Some of his answers were complete gibberish.

Because Obama can speak better doesn't make him a better President, nor does the fact that McCain can lead better make him a better President. I will say that up until the end, I thought Obama was a bit ahead, but I think McCain finished strong with his last comments and brought the debate much closer than it should have been.

I was completely impressed with Obama?s command of the issues as well as his natural desire to put the American people first> He provided intellectual insight that showcased his superior intelligence and ability to think things through on each and every issue discussed during the debate.

Mccain finally exposed himself for what he is?. A bitter old man time warped in failed policies and aggression that have done nothing but bring our country down? Obama represents a new day in America and a new beginning? Mccain represents? a slow and painful death.

?? I don?t like pain

The mccain campaign is over.... if you are a republican.... it would be a waste of your time to vote for mccain on nov 4th.... stay home... save your self the humiliation

Vote Obama 2008!!!!

Neither total waste of a debate. The loser though was Tom Brokaw who picked the most bland questions that could be for a townhall. Townhalls are usually the most exciting since they offer more obscure and outside the box questions. Not this one. Blah.

Obama can talk pretty, he won easily.

Be interesting to see if he can actually do anything when he gets office though.

I only watched the first half (recorded the second), but I'd have to say Obama. He was better (if only slightly) at answering directly about things such as how the bailout package will improve the situation for the average american (in theory).
Mccain seems more and more creepy to me with every appearance. He tries too hard to connect to people, but it's awkward. There was a moment where he was answering one womans question and he either touched her, or put his arm on her chair, and she stiffened noticeably, and it felt like an out of touch high school guidance conslor trying to connect to a student. I sort of feel like he's trying to be in touch with average person, but really has a sense of entitlement and maybe even a hint of resentment that it's not a given that he's getting the presidency.

i voted for obama, but i thought what Obama said about pakistan was a mistake. I felt McCain's words and final statement won him something in the debate.

Sorry to say, but McCain wasn't the train wreck i thought he'd be

I was also shocked and honestly felt McCain not only potentially alienated parts of the Republican party yet also made me say hell fucking no, when he spoke about buying out the mortgages. That alone should make him loose the debate by default.

Considering this is a choice between two evils, I think it works in America's favor that Obama has an unspoken onus on him to attempt a genuine precedent of not being more of the same.

Either way the American people lose.

The only winner in this election is the globalists, CFR, IMF, PNAC, NWO, etc

thats been my stance the whole time and why i've even been accused of being a blind sheep. if you have to pick one, pick the lesser of two evils.

Buying the mortages.. amazing.. Here's McCain talking about nationalizing the mortgage industry, which could be the largest transfer for income in history..

If we assume race won't play any significant role in actual voting, Obama is the next President. In other words, if Obama were white, there would be no question any longer about who the next President would be.

That's basically the wild card at this point.

The big problem here is that Biden should never be president, coupled with the fact that "Bubba 12-pack" will never accept a black president, thus we will have an assassination followed by a socialist Biden government. I'm going offshore.
