EVERY SINGLE clip I have seen on TV about ACORN is of black people or of a black person saying he was paid to register multiple times.

Whats the word on this? Are they just scamming black folk or did they outsource jobs to Nigeria?

Mostly done in poor areas in cities- so lots of blacks, some hispanics. Though even the footage of 2 or so years ago with Mccain speaking at an Acorn sponsored event, the crowd in red was pretty ethnic.

ACORN is the one informing the govt... they are required by law to turn in all registration forms... even if they are fraudulent... they have also been turning over the names of the people who have filled out the fraudulent registration forms. This whole thing is a smoke screen.

But my guess is to stupidly try to get more blacks and hispanics to visit Disney Land? This of course would mean that fewer white people would go as soon as the blacks and hispanics started showing up in huge numbers. Just like when they take over a shopping mall, what happens? The whites stop going, the stores close, a super saver cinema gets put in and the mall eventually fails.

As soon as immigrants or minorities go anywhere in large numbers, that place will fail. Happens all over the USA, in every city, every town. I guess if Disney wants this, let them have it. I'm tired of that damn goofy mouse anyway.

it didn't come up because of democrats and voter fraud. it came up because Obama once represented them, supported them, defended them... then later said he had no association with them.

after that, the bailout bill had some major earmarks for ACORN which many objected to and which really sparked the latest media interest in their past behavior and the accusations of voter fraud. 20% of the states are currently investigating them for voter fraud. many of their own members have been sentenced to jail for this very thing.

not sure why a serious issue like voter fraud should be considered a "smoke screen" in what people like to call "the worlds greatest democracy" and by people who bitch that Bush stole the election twice.

Um because it is not voter fraud, it is voter registration fraud. Signing up john doe to vote does not help anyone aside from the person who signed him up. They can not vote, will not vote, and will be removed from the registrar anyways by the county or state.

Telling people that if they have warrants they will be arrested if they vote = fraud.

It is two separate issues so it is not semantics.

ACORN is legally bound to turn in every single registration it gets, fake or not. They even point out suspicious ones. So to put it another way, they find out the employee they hired has just spent the past few days making up applications so that person can get a paycheck. That person drops them off and is caught. They fire that person. They are legally required to turn those registrations in.

They are technically not the ones doing it. If people want to change things. Perhaps a voting registration overhaul is in order. I just can not place blame on an organization that is following the laws and doing what they are supposed to. I am and have been an independent- this is just a non issue diversion tactic.

when its systemic and has been a problem for decades, when changes aren't made, when fake registration cards are continually found by the thousands, when their own people are being tried and sent to jail, when 14 states currently have open investigations and when its done by an organization that receives federal funds while leaning to the LEFT in their politics and who they support... maybe the organization shouldn't be allowed to exist at all.
