Its the same % that existed under Clinton. People didn't seem to care then. Oh but then there wasn't the internet filled with experts to tell everyone how wrong it is. Fact is, the top 5% should want the lower 95% to be able to reap the benefits of success. American consumers and American workers are what enabled them to be who they are. Its whats enabled them to close factories to increase profits by 2%. Its whats enabled them to outsource jobs to third world countries and continue to up the price of their products despite the reduced cost. Yet the bottom 95% are expected to take their lumps and enjoy it.

Can't believe all of you that have been brainwashed to the socialism doctrine. Pitiful.

So if you take away money from those that create jobs how will that help the economy exactly? Punish those that succeed brilliant.

Jobs are not created by the top 5%. Jobs are created by demand.

I cant believe you vote against your own best interests and news flash the bush tax cuts created lots of wealth while jobs and salaries dropped. Trickle down doesnt work. We have heard about companies having record quarters and in the next breath laying people off to stay competitive. Which really means ceos can get their big fat bonuses because the spread looks good.
News Flash The republicans dont give a flying fuck about you, John Mccain didnt say the words middle class once last night because he doesnt give a shit about them.
And it was W a republican president who pushed for the socialization of our financial system.

Who is creating jobs now? All I see is huge corps constantly cutting. Soon there will be no one who can afford to buy their products and even more jobs are lost. The system is broken. I don't think tax increases are the fix but what is?

I have a question about the tax reforms Obama wants to make it, does it only affect people who make over 250k? I know someone who is making 100k but they claim they are voting for McCain because he won't raise their taxes... but the thing is that OBama's tax plans wouldn't even affect them cause they are not making over 250k... is that correct?

Give me the correct info so I can put this person in check.

We do not propose to say there shall be no rich men. We do not ask to divide the wealth.
We only propose that, when one man gets more than he and his children and children?s children can spend or use in their lifetimes, that then we shall say that such person has his share.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How many men ever went to a barbecue and would let one man take off the table what's intended for 9/10th of the people to eat? The only way to be able to feed the balance of the people is to make that man come back and bring back some of that grub that he ain't got no business with!

Now we got a barbecue. We have been praying to the Almighty to send us to a feast. We have knelt on our knees morning and nighttime. The Lord has answered the prayer. He has called the barbecue. "Come to my feast," He said to 125 million American people. But Morgan and Rockefeller and Mellon and Baruch have walked up and took 85 percent of the victuals off the table!

Now, how are you going to feed the balance of the people? What's Morgan and Baruch and Rockefeller and Mellon going to do with all that grub? They can't eat it, they can't wear the clothes, they can't live in the houses.

Giv'em a yacht! Giv'em a Palace! Send 'em to Reno and give them a new wife when they want it, if that's what they want. But when they've got everything on God's loving earth that they can eat and they can wear and they can live in, and all that their children can live in and wear and eat, and all of their children's children can use, then we've got to call Mr. Morgan and Mr. Mellon an Mr. Rockefeller back and say, come back here, put that stuff back on this table here that you took away from here that you don't need. Leave something else for the American people to consume.

Obama tells you in each debate. If you make under $250k/yr, you are a fool for voting Republican. Hell, anyone voting for this Republican ticket is a fool regardless of who you are, or what you make.

It's funny listening to McFalin say that the top 5% are the ones creating the jobs. Sure they are creating jobs... for India and China.

No. Nothing at all wrong with them making a profit. Also yes the 12% was fairly low, then again it wasn't our fault he hit the city main with his backhoe and had to pay for it. I refused to let them pass the cost of that onto me. I also make damn sure that any contractor, sub, or such working on my property agrees to itemized invoices supplied at the end of any job. No problem paying whatever hourly rate or whatever was agreed on though.

Ok, I didn't know that. To be honest I haven't watched any debates and don't really follow politics so that's why I am asking... So then I wonder why this person I know who makes under 250k keeps saying he is going to vote McCain because he doesn't want his taxes raised? This guy is not stupid btw, he's really into politics... Are you sure there is not something I am missing? Like maybe Obama will raise taxes REALLY SLIGHTLY for people who make under 250k? Or perhaps he will raise taxes for people's overall assets if they are over 250k, like if they own a 500k home, paid for in full? This guy owns his own home, so perhaps that's what he's referring to???

If you want to "set someone straight" about a topic, it should really be something you actually know at least the very basics about.

Going to a message board to get the inside scoop so you can avoid doing any research of your own on your path to telling someone else what's what with what just makes you a stunned cunt.

Do you suggest we lower the taxes for the rich like we did 7 years ago? I mean, that has worked out well for our economy, right?

Just show him youtube videos of Sarah Falin speaking in church about how she wants to help carry out "god's plan". That should change his mind.

it's always hysterical to see people who are at best middle class wave pompoms for the Republicans - pathetic dreamers, the Kiwanis and Rotary clubs are filled with idiots who identify with those 100 times more wealthy than they are, delusional. They are obsessed and worried about financial matters that will never in their entire lives affect them because they are destined/doomed to a life a mediocrity and it has nothing to do with tax rates or financial policies in Washington, it is that they are very average people and very average people don't make $250,000 incomes - the Democrats are the party for you if you are average. I totally understand why somebody with successful businesses hate Democrats financial plans - it's the 95% of Republican voters who would do better for their mediocre/average selves and their mediocre/average families under the Democrats that are pitiful.

My wife and I went to golden coral, its all good working folks. They had Jesus and nascar shirts. I told my wife I bet no one in this restaurant makes over $40 k a year and probably 98 percent will be voting republican. Its sad, they are voting against their own best interests.

Just head in to a red state someday. Mississippi, Alabama, etc. You run across the dumbest and poorest people in the country. It's sad in a way, but they choose not to help themselves.

It obviously shows how clueless you are and that you are completely talking out of your ass.

Obama came to Joe's block to campaign door to door and Joe asked him the question on the curb.

Seriously some of you all need to get educated with facts. No question he is a Republican, but if he was a plant, then he was a plant by the Obama campaign since it was Obama that went to his block and asked him his concerns.

I was just really in the dark on what plumbers/plumbing companies make, so that's where I was looking for clarification.
one plumber unclogs toilet. another plumber refits an entire house in new pipes. which gets paid more?

joe the Plumber is not an "average joe" nor is his an undecided voter.

Its being reported he owns 3-5 different businesses, makes well over $280,000 a year, and isnt a registered voter, and has tax liens on him for back taxes. He is running businesses with no license and the Association of Plumbers in his area is trying to locate him because he is not supposed to be running plumbing business without license.

He is also related to the Keatings of the keating Five scandal.

this is no average joe.

Investors and executives are rather pro-McCain.

I tell workers supporting Obama, "don't get too excited".

Obama is no JFK and Obamas are not the Kennedys.

Not going to challenge the military/CIA, or corporations.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18474444/
"The Secret Service said Thursday that Sen. Barack Obama was being placed under their protection, the earliest ever for a presidential candidate."

- The boys are not going to leave Iraq or Afghanistan. Iraq is shiite now like Iran, and Talibans grew rich in the heroin trade, rich enough to buy the whole of Afghanistan.
- No "free universal" health care, ask Hillary Clinton about it, she failed.
- No tough talk on defense, energy companies and Wall Street. Financiers, lawyers are top contributors to the Democratic Party, defense is America's #1 industry and a leader in technology.
- The economic crisis is not going away after Obama enters the White House.

It's not going to be a remake of The Untouchables, Eliot Ness vs the Capone family.

Don't get too excited.

For a campaign based on "change", I bet many will be very disappointed, especially African Americans, "peace activists", Wal-Mart haters.

African Americans won't wake up with assets and a solid education, no peace in the Middle East, Wal-Mart, Lockheed Martin, ExxonMobil, JP Morgan executives can sleep tight.
