I seem to think smaller programs will be able to ride out this storm better than the large programs. Smaller sites are more nimble and can fill gaps that the big sites leave open.

Sites that give the surfer what they want, give them something in the members area that actually makes them feel they are part of something and connected to the product.

I think the paysite model will be fine for the next few years for those webmasters who know how to adapt their marketing efforts for the changing times.

No longer can webmasters rely on the "newbie" surfer for their signups. Signups are now coming from surfers that know what they want and have done their research on the paysite before entering their credit card.

This means subpar paysites and those who push them will continue to see their income dwindle.

Surfers are more informed and tech-savvy. Word-of-mouth and reviews are separating the good porn from the bad. Make sure you are pushing the best paysites - drop the programs that launch a new site every month but whose members area is severely lacking - they are going the way of the dinosaur

The direction of this thread is that tube sites which give away a product for free are what is hurting sales. Can't dating sites be completely replaced by free dating sites who use a advertising model to generate revenue?

It seems like a rush of free adult dating sites are right around the corner.

Solo is by far the easiest to get webmasters to promote, easy way of getting sales and great with retention as long as the model stays active on the site. The ones who do join don't care about the free content on the tubes they care about there weekly fix with the model threw cam or there forum

Everyone already knows about the tube sites, and well, some of them really cant get bigger in terms of views. Theres a bunch in the top 100 on alexa. I would say the adjustment to these sites is already felt for the most part. To me, the big adjustment started last summer of 2007 and ran into april of 2008, then things sort've stabilized (the big sites hit a ceiling).

The threat isnt tube sites, the threat is piracy. Most of the big tube sites have money on the table now, where they know better than to steal blatantly, and I do still think there's litigation coming for some of the big boys who like to look the other way or steal blatantly. I know first hand we are compiling evidence against some, and the laws around piracy worldwide will change to make it easier to prosecute. I say that because, if you think its bad in adult, its much worst for Hollywood, music, software, etc. Recently a popular content removal site was having trouble with a tube site owner, well this company deals with all the biggest companies and eventually someone got fed up and there was going to be a real lawsuit - the hosts were contacted, the owner was contacted, a mass email was sent out to said comapny's client list, and from what i know - the owner became a bit more cooperative after that.

You could have a script made for probably under $1000 that could rip profiles from all the big adult dating sites, then just start a free one and let the real profiles slowly purge out the fakes. Adult webmasters seem to feel they can steal content, I don't see why those same slimeballs would have a problem stealing profiles.

This is not some 'new concept' toots.

I have been doing this for years, and advocating others follow suit, in cracking down the theft of our shit. However, I am happy to see it working for some others now who have come to see the light.

Saber rattling and "calling people out" on message boards does not get your content removed. Knocking out their registrar, sponsors, hosting, and processor does.
