![]() I'm not knocking people that write for others but. I can't help but think it's kind of like the "SEO for hire" guys. I thought about doing this at one point but , why write for someone else? It's time consuming and your time would be better spent writing your own copy.
You can't help but think they are just morphing your posts out anyway like most of the entire internets ![]() ![]() When you write your own you don't have to worry that it's been "duped" already. I know some people probably just want to sit around and write for other people but like SEO if you're so good why aren't you doing it yourself? Just a thought ...

Some thruth there but when you start having big blog network it kinda sucks to write say 100 posts a day your self. I am currently on a rampage and writing 30+ updates a day at the moment and It's taking too much time already.

I've had this thought many times.
The money is right upfront and you don't have to worry about making further sales. That's how I reasoned it. I do both my own and I write for others. You're right though, if the person has experience in both and people are still buying porn it's more favorable to write your own.

hi!!
that's a very good point and something im sure lots of people think of but you have to remember who is actually doing the writing when i write im writing for my own sites, but when i hire students from school to write then all theyre interested in is the quick money so now i have students that are ready to write for me, but lets say i have nothing for them to write about at the time or id rather write my own thing at that time but the fact still remains i have these awesome writers just itching to tap their keyboard i can tell them to fuck off, or i can put them to work and make a little extra money on the side which ive been doing with great results! theyre happy, im happy, and if i ever do need someone to write for me i get a great employee discount :P |

![]() I'm talking about these guys that have a bunch of "writers" working for them around the world. These guys have stacks of posts eventually and they aren't going to use them down the line? I would rather "partner up" with other writers("friends") at least you know they have a stake in the blog. Thinking about it.

The problem with writing services is, for someone doing a large scale they are just too much money. I mean lets say I wanted 100 posts a week. That's $300 a week if you figure the average service charges $3 per post (assuming it's quality).
That breaks down to being only 20 posts per day if you figure a 5 day work week. You could easily hire a local college student for that same money and likely get more posts out of them for the same money. Of course you would have to train them, but still I think you would be better off. Not knocking the writing services out there as I've used a few and had good results, but it's just too expensive in the long run at the average prices. Then when you get down to it, 100 posts a week isn't even large scale, so it could really add up.

But of course if you can get the writing done cheaper, even better.

I think the blog writing services work best for large, established blogs with traffic. If you know you can get at least a sale or two off of any new posts just based on traffic volume, why wouldn't you spend $3 each? Or even more? You're still easily making profit, and you're freeing up your time to do other things like link trades, etc.
It's tough for new blogs without an existing network to feed them traffic, and I think a lot of newbies or at least blog newbies don't really understand how long it can take to start getting traffic. Five or ten posts isn't going to cut it. They want to update regularly, but it's a lot tougher to justify that cost when you are virtually guaranteed NOT to make a sale on them for quite some time. Personally I have found that writing blog entries for others cannot be my main business anymore, and unless you want to work for office-temp rates at $10-12/hour, I don't see how anyone could make it their full time biz. I still do a few here and there, but I mostly have my local assistant writer do them and focus my time on reviews.

For example, I hate uploading files via ftp. I just hate it. So instead of building a site for myself, writing a lot of content and such I'd rather offer my time more effectively to other people. So if I'd spend 10 hours building a site and then 10 hours building the content for that site, I'd rather spend 20 hours just writing content for someone who'd spend 1 hour building the site. It's complicated a bit, I know. Think of webdesign agencies. "So why don't you like start a [insert industry here] business and design a killer site that will make huge sales instead of designing sites for other people?". |

I had a guy that worked for me and he did posts at $6 a post. We are talking medium quality grammar, high quality pics, medium quality in what he was writing about and high quality linking.
Over the course of 1 year he wrote about 300 posts for me. Cost: $1800 spread out over a year. Return: It took about 1 1/4 years to make the money back on his posts. After that all money was gravy. At the time he wrote for me my blogs were brand new. Had I had perhaps 20K a day in traffic I think I would have made my money back in as little as 2 months or less. If you have high traffic paying for posts is an amazing idea. If you are brand new it is something you need to be into for the long term. Now he posts his own posts to my blogs. He gets my traffic, I get increased traffic based on getting new posts... which see my ads and my own posts... We both like this arrangement better. |

This certainly puts an entirely new angle on the screenwriter/agent relationship in Hollywood. Maybe the agents should just write their own shit too, and the directors should start acting. But what are the producers going to start doing?

so if you go back and start writing your own blog posts and save all this money on hiring writers, you'll probably get rich enough to get your own tgp and invest the profits in dirty movies where you can sleep with the talent.
Or something like that. Play around with the order of events on give yourself the titles you need when you need them. |
