Fatal but all too common resume mistakes

During these challenging economic times, it's probably a good idea to keep these tips in mind when looking for that new job.

#2 gave me the lols.

"2) Inappropriate e-mail address

It is common today for applicants to leave an e-mail address on their resumes. Nothing wrong with that. Unfortunately, many applicants make the mistake of leaving personal or inappropriate e-mail addresses rather than professional ones. Put yourself into the HR guy?s shoes. You are looking at two very impressive applications, but one them lists their e-mail as [email protected]? while the other lists theirs as [email protected].? Which person are you more likely to hire? If you don?t already have a professional-sounding e-mail address, just visit one of the many free e-mail providers (like gmail, yahoo, and hotmail) and sign up for one."

Easy...

The one with the "[email protected]" address.

Why? Because they're honest, mellowed out, and obviously they have the "hook-up".

Seriously though, I know some extremely well-educated and competent persons who do smoke up "every day". Several of them are very wealthy and have no qualms about their favorite pastime.

Obviously, they don't live in the US either.

I hear ya, man. I didn't write the article, just found it funny. I know quite a few well-adjusted, successful, highly educated people that smoke the kind as well. Back in college, only 3 dudes in my fraternity didn't smoke bud and most of the guys who did smoke went on to become lawyers, doctors, development administrators, city planning management, lobbyists, etc.
