How can I make a dating site successful?
I started a straight dating site and I have a fantastic domain name, niche and site set up. My site has all the bells and whistles and its like a Myspace lite.
My problem is that I have no interest in the site. I dont want to look at women or talk to them to woo them in. I just have a great empty site lol. so how can I take this good product I have and get it filles with people? is there a way to buy memberships or a database of users or something? |

Buy lots of PPC google traffic? Make fake profiles like other dating sites do? Close site? |

Getting a dating site off the ground is a tough business, you really need a min of 50K profiles to start with. If your domain name is really good (although having a good name guarantees nothing) you need to decide if you go down the whitelabel route (basically use the site guts, provided by a comp that has all the profiles and admin, or start a serious PPC campaign - why not start it off free then turn it to paid once you have sufficient numbers.
I have built an run a couple of sites over the last 4 years, and its alot of work. ICQ me if you want to pick my brains. |

i spent the past year building up a niche gay dating site from scratch and im up to 19k members with $0 on advertising, but im involved in that community so it was easy to spread the word. But its such a small niche I cant make good money from it. I keep the site free and only charge $5/month if they want videos and theyre so cheap they complain about that! so I made this straight so I can have the potential to make more money to a way bigger audience and at a higher price point. |
