Been hearing about this all day from our Publishers and our Advertisers. First, good luck to Scott. Known him and the whole TD crew for years and years and they've ALWAYS been very cool, straight-up business folk.

Next, for Publishers, anyone looking to get something up and running ASAP because of this feel free to hit us up. We can have you setup in less than 3 hours! Remember, with MadAve you can use us as an ad rotation solution so you can run ANYONE you want: AAW, Etology, Adbrite, etc. So if you want you can set us up to run TrafficDude as well if you want to stick with Scott and crew to see how this plays out.

Last, these are tough times folks. Don't EVER put all your eggs in one basket. Publishers look at your traffic like a stock portfolio: you need to keep it DIVERSIFIED! The BEST formula I've seen for making the most off your traffic is to slice a bit off to send to the affiliate programs yourself so figure out what your traffic is worth, sell as much you can yourself, and send the rest to SEVERAL ad networks being sure to set your minimum pricing they sell it for in line with what you can make all day long off the affiliate programs. Look at ALL the numbers and optimize your rotation based on what's making you the best RPM (revenue / 1000 impressions). Heh, not too coincidentally that's EXACTLY what we built MadisonAvenue.com to do for FREE for any Publisher

Being that I once worked for TD I have nothing but good things to say about the company despite the unfortunate circumstances that they are facing now. In regards to your quote Justin.....you may not have experienced a beneficial ROI but I can assure you that several other companies did. And as for there reasoning for R rated banners only, that was in relation to 2257 documentation needing to be held when using xxx rated banners that would be hosted on their server. They were simply covering their ass from any legalities that may have occurred by offering XXX rated banner hosting.

All in all, both Scott and Tony are wonderful people and I wish them all the best!

Wow, this is big news!

But, maybe I don't understand the backruptcy process, but how does a personal bankruptcy affect the business? Unless, of course, it wasn't incorporated... (which doesn't sound like a smart thing).

Heard about this several days ago... thought it was a joke to begin with but then realized it was very, very serious.

Honestly, very sad to see TrafficDude go down.
I have had nothing but respect for this company.

I can only concur with Kiwi - during the time I worked with Scott & Tony they always did their utmost to do their best by me, and in making their business relationships long-lasting ones. This most definitely could not have been an easy decision. These are rough times for many it seems, and even the best of people can be hit by that.

It shouldn't... one of the primary purposes of having a corporation is to create a separate entity, breaking liability between personal and corporate and also corporate and personal. Very odd.

If you run any business at all and make any kind of money, you should have a corporation.

It's a real shame that they are going out of business. We used to work with Trafficdude years ago and I credit Scott especially with helping us take a giant leap forward in business and marketing back when we were n00bs. SCOTT, SIR: YOU WILL BE MISSED.

My deepest condolences to both Scott and Tony. I have known them all the way back to 1996 when Scott was with WebSideStory and we have been very dear friends and done business with them ever since. Of the people I can count on 10 fingers in this industry (or any industry, for that matter), they have the highest degree of integrity, intelligence and compassion, paralleled by none. I wish them both the very best in the future.
